I would love to snap a picture of the turkeys, but it’s way to hot this weekend, maybe it will cool down soon. There little feet would burn. It’s supposed to be 115 for a couple of days. As soon as I see them I’ll take a picture. Don’t worry about Thanksgiving, they are safe. They are wild turkeys and don’t taste good. -

Brony!! What a turn around and fabulous story. I am so happy for you and LUCY ! You are such a special and sweet person to help Lucy, and I am so grateful, inspired and encouraged by you opening your home and heart again, What an inspiring turn of events. I have a new member to my family. I missed Lulu so much. So I adopted a little kitty kat. Her name is Lucy. She came from Orland. Was living in a burned out barn with her two babies. The babies got a home. The lady that came to Lucy\’s rescue got her spayed and Lucy has been living alone in mobile since September. She is very shy a little over a year old. She now is living a normal life. She has the whole house to play, a cat tree to look out the window (something she\’s never done before). She was fed and safe but that was all. She stares at a bird-not knowing what it is. She adores watching TV for hours. She listens to me when I talk to her. She is becoming my companion. I had enough love to share it with her. Lulu would be pleased. I know I am.-

Walking in the door of an empty house is one of the hardest parts for me. I am sorry and hope seeing some of her favorite spots brings you a smile (alongside the pangs I know you’re feeling). Mardi was lucky to have your care and love in her twilight years, as you were lucky to share her life. Deliberately recalling the better days can help us remember why we open our homes and hearts. Parting is part of the deal and while we know that in our heads, in our hearts we are broken when it happens. In your five years together, you enjoyed fun, funny and loving times and I hope you can bring forth a few memories of those each day to counter-balance the pain of loss you feel. Sue, don’t let anyone pressure you into opening your home and heart again until you are ready. I’ve gotten a bit of that from well-meaning friends, but I am not ready right now to take on the tremendous responsibilty and time and attention our pets deserve. I do have all the “stuff” (litter boxes, toys, trees, etc.) for the next ones, but not just now. What we can do instead is donate to our local shelters and rescues to support the good work they do. -

I am so glad Walter didn’t suffer a rupture. He was eating but lost 20% of his body weight which means his system was nor functioning well. I miis him but sincerely have to be happy he had a loving, comfortable end of life with me. I hope to see you both on the 20th – I think it brings us closer to actually speak, with and see one another. {{BIG, BIG HUGS} to you both. Toni -

returned home yesterday after two weeks away … no warm body to scold me for being gone or to cuddle with when going to bed .. i miss my little mardi but know she is better off where she is .. just miss her company soooooooooo much ….

Well yesterday marked 1 month since Babys passing ,it’s heartbreaking
