@maryannstad Maryann, I am so sorry for your loss of Dolly. Dolly was my mother’s nickname and I really hope you will share more about your Dolly with us – How you met, what kind of pet was Dolly? Oh Julie, Max is still within your heart and it hasn’t been very long for you to live without his presence in your home. It’s undertandable, and truly okay for you to feel the pains you do, and to cry. In fact, crying is good for you, to get rid of the sad toxins created by grief. So Julie, may I offer a way to navigate through this terribly hurtful time? Can you think of the times you shared with Max that were good, fun and loving, and see how many of those you shared and enjoyed? Perhaps that will help give a perspective. Our pets are only “on loan” to us, never for long enough, and we can honor our time together by recalling and celebrating all of the fabulous time we were allowed to share. I hope that helps you a bit, and I invite you to join our group meeting Sep. 21st to share more about Max with us. We’re here for you. {HUGS} Toni -

I miss this baby so much, I still cry everyday. I have his forever box on the living room window sill where he always went to see outside. Everyday when I open/close the blinds I have to touch his box and tell him how much I miss him. Max crossed the rainbow bridge June 18, 2023. He took my heart with him 😢-

As I\’ve settled into my new house I\’ve been having this recurring feeling of missing my pet Ziggy who passed October 2021. I always saw us getting the house and her being able to run around in our fenced-in yard. I miss her howls when she wanted to just talk. I want to create a little memorial I can visit in our backyard as we prepare for the cold months. My pup Xena played with her when she was younger and I see so much of Ziggy in her and it helps bring me peace. Sally, I still choke up when I see pictures of my dear old Squirt, and she’s been gone decades. The love doesn’t go away, and while the acute pain fades, a little pain and melancholy accompanies the memories of all the wonderful times we shared. You have lost so many loves in such a short period, it’s undertsandable that you are moved to tears. It’s okay to cry – in fact, it helps clear toxins from our bodies. Anniversaries stir up strong emotions, too and I encourage you to join our group meeting Sep. 24th in anticipation of Ooky’s. A nice suggestion from one of our members: in addition to marking the anniversary of the date of parting, celebrate the date of birth or adoption! I think that’s lovely and hope that brings you a bit of comfort. We’ll be here for you. {{HUGS}} Toni

October 1st is the 3 year anniversary of Ooky\’s death. 3 years and I still cry when I look at her pictures or watch video of her. The pain of loss never seems to go away. I lost her sister Doodlebug last May and her Aunt, Missy last June they were all blood related and all died from untreatable cancer.
I miss them so very much.-

Buddy will be missed. I’m sure your grandson misses him. I’m so sorry for your loss. Keep your chin up. It will be hard. My Lulu passed away on June 4 2023 almost 14 years old, she was my everything. I adopted another cat, Lucy. The tears are drying up. The love I had for Lulu will never fade, I just learned to share it. I hope comfort comes to you and know that we feel your pain. Hugs for you. -
