he dog in the picture is my present one and his name is Chewie. I got him the same week that Peanut had passed. Peanut was 10 years onld when he passed, he had a cancerous tumor in his stomach. I had him for 8 years, got him when he was 2. Him and his sister were at the shelter I volunteered at. His sister got adopted and he was left behind. His time was running out so I adopted him. I still miss him. But, now I have Chewie, he is turning 10 next month . -

I rescued Toby 10 years ago when he was only 4 weeks old. He was so tiny then… He loved both my boys and my husband as well but he was a mama\’s boy. I will always remember our daily walks to take our boys to and from the bus stop. He refused to walk on a leash but I never had to worry about him cause he would never go where he couldn\’t see mama. I cherish the time we got to spend together, he was my best friend. I will always miss him. -

Hi yes Barkbark is my dog. Actually he was my very first dog I ever loved. He passed away in 2011 of congenital heart failure. I devastated when I lost him. I lost Little Bit this summer of COPD. She was my service dog. I got her cremated and I take her ashes everywhere I go. They were chihuahuas-
I am sorry. I think the holidays make it harder. If you want to keep Little Bit close to you, you may like the Forever in Glass pieces we feature in our shop. The artist, Henry, hand blows remains in beautiful pendants you can wear or carry, and Memory Vessels have two compartments for physical mementos like remains or fur, plus a USB flash drive to store your photos. Hi Toni, thank you for your kind words. Tulsa was my best friend and helped me through a lot of hard times in my life. Tulsa passed away back on February 14, 2011. I know it was almost 10 years ago but there is not a day that goes by that I don’t miss him so deeply.-
Oh Dawn, my sister’s dog passed over twenty years ago and, like Mr. Bojangles, she still grieves. There is no time line on grief, but with time, do you notice your smiles come before your tears? I always miss my pets, but, while I hurt for them, I have joy from the memories. My cat Squirt was with me from 23 until I was 42 – that’s 19 years of very formative, emotional years for us – and she was my best friend. I still miss her, too, but have welcomed other pets into my life, grieved their losses, and thoroughly enjoyed and treasured their time with me. Love is tough. Let us know how you are doing, and if you can share your sympathy and support with others in our community, it will mean a lot coming from you. Oh, I think the holidays make it worse – do you? Try to have a decent holiday anyway. It’s been quite a year…. Toni

We don’t know what happened. He was kind of sluggish the other day. He slept most of the day after we brought him inside. The next morning he was acting like his old self so we put him back with the other, then we went to run some errands. And when we came back, he wouldn’t or couldn’t come to me. I picked him up and pretty much all he did was breath and do baby howls and wiggle his tail barely. The emergency vet we talked to required cash up front, we didnt have it, but she said it could be low sugar so we fed him some syrup but to no avail. I appreciate you just talking to me if I need it Thank You.-
Hmmm…. one of our members lost a young pup to a disease I hadn’t heard of. I wonder if anyone in the community has insights to puppy afflictions? We’re working to align with veterinary consultations and I hope we can make that available early next year. Faithful Friends is friendly with an organization called Waggle.org that helps pay for treatment. I don’t know if they would have been a resource for you, but we will work to make Waggle a presence in our community. I’m speaking with them again in the new year, so watch for more information.

The light in our hearts is always on for her. Hoping all who have lost pets can find some comfort in lighting a candle for them… we will see them on the other side.-
Oh Jessica, that is so hard and the depth of feeling is unlike others we feel, isn’t it? So young, and yet, for her time she had your love and care, and I bet you had some wonderful times that will bring good memories in time. The thing I find so hard is that they are only ‘on loan’ to us and, because they are so much sweeter and understanding than most everyone else…well…when they leave us, we are better, but a bit emptier, do you know what I’m trying to say?

We lost Karma on dec 4th 3 years ago. She was only 4 years old… she started limping on her paw and within 2 days she was blind and having neurological symptoms. We did doggie hospice overnight and after 2 seizures we lost our girl… and our dog Gemma lost her biological sister from the same litter. Our kids were devastated and so was I. I can still reach down and feel her with me at times. She was gone too soon… I light the candle because I don’t want her forgotten and-

He is a corn snake and they live up to 20 years in captivity. I was told he’d stop growing around 6 feet or so but every critter is different. I do keep them all separated although I’d love to get a family photo but it would be too difficult. Especially since Starla is very jumpy and Spunky came to us after being returned by his previous owner. For some reason he doesn’t like to be held and refuses to sit still. I love them all anyway 🥰-
You make me smile and laugh with your backgrounds and stories, and I really enjoy this. Thank you! I’m not familiar with Corn Snakes, but will now look into them. He’s caught my eye :-). Canaries can be very affectionate and smart, so maybe Starla will come around in time and let you love on her, but I don’t know anything about Chinchilla’s. Do they usually like to be held? It sounds as if you have a lot of patience , obviously a huge capacity for caring, and are having a cheerful, if challenging, time. You simply must send more pictures and keep us in the loop with them all! If you get some holiday pics, please, share them. And have a fun, furry, feathery holiday!

Billie Jo, what happened? This is so sad and we are so sorry with you. What breed was he? How are the others doing? How is his mother doing – is she mourning him, too? What happened, do you know? It’s so hard to lose a loved one, and so young. I am, we are, so, so sorry… Is there anything we can do besides let you know we are here for, and with you? With my teary, sincere sympathy, Toni.

Diego is hard to measure because he likes to curl up lol. We estimate he’s about

Wow, that’s impressive. What type of snake id Diego? How old, and how long do they usually live? Now, do all of them get along, or do you separate them? I find this very interesting.
