In our community we care and share as we anticipate, prepare for and experience the death of a beloved pet. This is Walter. He will be 15 in June. Walter has a mass on his intestine and I am closely monitoring him for signs of distress, lack of eating, vomiting, etc. It is heartbreaking to know he is failing and I don\’t want him to suffer. We\’re taking things day by day. This is the anticipatory and preparedness stage – the part of pet love and loss we dread but move through, hoping to remember the many good times we were gifted with.
