Juno before she got liver failure. She was only 5 years old. Worst Labor Day weekend.
    • Oh Wendy, I am so sorry. How did you find out what was wrong with Juno? Were there symptoms? Are you doing better? Toni
        • I took her to the veterinarian. Her symptoms were throwing up, barely eating and losing weight. Not really doing better. My husband got me a new puppy about 2 weeks later. That I really didn’t want but I do love him. But I still talk to my Juno. I did make a blanket with her favorite pictures on it.

My 2 little boys, brothers, Axl and Slash. Just over 1 year old…
        • Rock-n-Roll Cats! Heavy metal…paws to the pedal. How cute. Did you adopt them? Love the ‘catitude.
            • I got the brothers from my next door neighbor. She took in a stray female about to have babies and she had 7… A true Motley Crue (pun intended, although wrong band). They were a year old in August, and Axl, was the runt, at the time, only Half the size of Slash. Well, NOW, the rides have turned completely, and he is the biggest of all 7, and weighs 18 lbs, to Slash’s 11!
BTW… Axl is blondish, fat, and cant sing and Slash is the bad-ass rocker with the great Rock n Roll hair, of course.

I was sure that I didn\’t want anymore dogs after Cherry passed, but I was wrong. These 2 beauties are my rescues, Ben & Freyja.
            • Melissa, as we say “Who rescued whom?”, right? This is just lovely to see, and for you, and Ben & Freyja. Are they litter mates? How old are they? What breed, if any? I’m so happy for you all!
                • No, not litter mates. Ben is Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix & Freyja is a Treeing Walker Coonhound. Both of them are 3 yrs old.

I just rescued a new fur baby. Her name is Lily and we love her so much already!

                • Vicki, don’t be a tease – tell us about Lily :-). Any pictures we can see? How wonderful for you both.
                    • I have been looking for another chihuahua as a friend for my little chi I have now. Her name is Pixie. She is also a rescue. I placed an ad in our local classified and someone contacted me that they had a chi they could no longer keep. The rest is history!
                        • That is such a good story, Vicki. Most breeds have Rescues that can also be a resource for finding an adoptee. The Find Services tab on our site has Rescues and Shelters that can be located in your are by entering your zip code. Now, will you show us Pixie ( love that name) and your other Chi? ๐Ÿ™‚

Wasn\’t going to get another pet after my Maax passed away. But, this one stole my heart.
                      • Well, Angie, I can certainly see why! What a face, and those eyes! Who is this? How old? Tell us all about your new friend. It’s so generous, kind and loving to open your heart again. Good for you. Thank you for sharing.

Still in disbelief that i lost my bella. She was my rock. She was by my side through everything. 12 years with my beautiful baby. Still cry daily. When does it get better?
                        Heartbroken

                        • Dawn, I posted the same question – when does the crying stop? It does, of course, but why is this so, so painful? I think because it’s so loving. Because they gave us so much love. Because we love them so much. Tears are a release, a cleansing function, and just don’t have to stop until they do. That’s it – they will stop when they do. And they will come back when they do, but over time, your smiles will precede your tears, and one day, you will have more smiles than tears…you will, and that doesn’t mean you stopped loving, it means the love you shared is bringing more joy than grief. Dawn, please you must stay in touch with us, cry with us if you want, and know we all are here for you. Toni

Lost our sweet girl January 14th, 2021. Our other dog is missing her like crazy and going around sniffing and laying in places that she would. We all miss her greatly. She would of been 10 next month. Her and are other dog have been together since our husky was a baby, 5 years.
                          • Oh yes, animals grieve, too. It’s hard for us because we want to comfort them. Keep loving on her, snuggles and kisses, and that should help comfort you, too. Check in with us and let us know how you ALL are doing. Toni

                              My younger cat.
Still going around calling for his big brother

                              • Mary, how is your cat doing now? You?
                                  • He is good.
Just missing his big brother sometimes.
They were together for 13 years.
                                      • Yep – It’s so different for him, I’m sure. How is he acting with you?
                                          • He is fine. A little more attached.
Our problem is that he wants to fight my boyfriend’s cat. All the time. She is not fixed. Never seen so much aggression from him. But he gets along fine with his dog.
                                              • Mary, I’ve been thinking about this. Do you think the cats don’t get along because 1. They are territorial or possessive of your attention 2. You cat is grieving and taking it out on the other cat?
                                                • No he was doing this before my other cat passed.
The female is just as bad. We have had to keep them separated. They each have their own room.
They are allowed to Rome the house in 12 hour shifts. They each have their own food and water. And litter box. Plus a main food and water because we have a small dog too.

I\’m celebrating the life of my 3 animals shown. The black is Bobo and my husband loved that cat so very much she was 13 yrs old when she passed we got her when she was 5 weeks old. Gibby us my cat, he was one of the sweetest cats I have ever had he lived 3 months after Bobo and he was also 13 yrs old. Jessica was my dog growing up, my parents showed and bred Shetland Sheepdogs from 1971 to present , Jessica was born in 1977 and I had her until 1988 when she passed away from cancer, I loved this dog do much, growing up through my teenage years and married with kids, it was pure love!
                                            • Wow, Wendy. This is so wonderful – to see and get to know them. I have actual physical photographs of my beloved Prince and Tiger with whom I grew up, but it was before digital. I’ll have to take some pictures of the photographs. Gosh..how old am I? ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyway, the point is, our pets are truly family members who help form our lives, support us through our formative, growing years, and are guiding lights to be more kind, giving and understanding by their being with us – do you think?

                                              • Are they cute?!! What are they – Pomeranians? How old are they?
                                                • very cute babies:)
                                                  • Diane, do you have more pictures of them? How much do they weigh? I bet they look really cute when they’re wet and their fur isn’t sticking out – I had a long haired cat that looked really big and fluffy, and when she came in the shower with me (yes, she loved getting wet!), she was a skinny little thing ๐Ÿ™‚
                                                      • Yes, they are cute when they get their baths. They are not easy to give them a bath, for they have two coats they top fur and then they have an undercoat. But you can’t help but loving them. They have been by my side and are trying to comfort me.
                                                          • Diane, as you said to Jayne, they know when we are suffering, whether physically or emotionally. I’m glad you have them to support you. They probably miss Squirt, too, and are lucky to have you there to support them, too. Here’s a HUG for you all……
