Hello.Well..my mama cat is eating, and now threw up everything she ate last night.
I am seriously beginning to wonder if she is coming down with feline dementia, because she has a clean litter box,but is an inch away from the box,but doesn’t use it.She looks at me as if she has no idea as to who I am anymore.

    • Yep, Dianne, I share your situation with my girl – she’s going potty in odd places and staring into space. She also has hearing loss – I walk right up to her and she doesn’t hear me coming. She seems to feel good, but with her other medical problems, it’s clear she’s “showing her age” (17 1/2). I hope for ALL our sakes they just fall asleep and don’t awaken, but that’s me not wanting to have to make the decision to let her go if she begins to suffer.. You should take your girl to the vet – did you apply to Waggle.org? I think they will help pay the vet if you get in touch with Crystal. I am really sorry – I know it’s heartbreaking every day to watch her age. Let us know how it’s going. Hugs…..
        • Toni,my mama cat stares into space a lot, like she has no idea of where she is at, or anymore, who I am.Her pottying in odd places is concerning because I always have a clean litter box for her.Like last night,I was in my room and looked up and she was going to pee on my bedroom floor…BUT ..I caught her in the right time and put her in the litter box.She is not the same anymore.I am worried. She sits in weird places that are open, and its like she forgot where she is going. And she startles more and that is new for me.She used to be very loveable, but anymore, when I pick her up,she acts like I am a stranger.
When it comes to eating, she looks at her food, not sure of what to do,but she does eventually does eat.My heart is breaking because she used to come to me to be petted, and would kiss me,but no more.
            • I know, Honey. It IS heartbreaking. You’ll do what’s best for HER. We’re here for you as you move through these times. By the way, what is her name? Is it Mama Cat?
