Celebrate 5 years, 6 months agoOur Cookie sitting with Buddy. They were best friends. Cookie was always cleaning Buddy’s ears, licking the tumor in his throat a sniffing around his chest (where the cancer had spread to. Cookie doesn’t know what to do now. We’ve tried everything the vet suggested and then some. We will probably end up getting another beagle for her (and us).-
Let me rephrase….Buddy had a tumor on the side of his neck and it protruded quite a bit. Cookie would lick Buddy’s neck and even scratch at it with her teeth as they will when trying to chew at fleas. -
I’m so sorry about Buddy, and Cookie. And you…. Animals can detect medical issues, often before we know about them. Another friend for Cookie, and you, is probably a good thing. You’ll never “replace” Buddy of course, but it is so nice to take in another friend. Please let us know if you do and how you are all doing.-

Remember 5 years, 6 months agoThis was my lilman. He passed away in 2015. Miss you sweet baby. R.I.P.-
Oh Kim… How sweet is this picture? I can feel his paw – my old girl sleeps with her backside tucked under my chin. ( I think she’s trying to ‘snufficat’ me)…It doesn’t matter how long they’ve been gone, we still love them, think of them, treasure and will always have them with us…right? I adore this picture, and am so glad you shared it with us. Please be a part of our caring community.

Thank you so much for your reply. Im glad to be a part of caring community.

What a beautiful boy. He reminds me of my cat “Muffy”, he was a long haired cat though. I’m sure his spirit is still with you. Lilman is your little angel. I know the heartbreak of loosing a friend. Only time eases the pain. Just remember he is OK and still around in spirit form.

Remember 5 years, 6 months agoHi everyone, just wanted to remember my beautiful Russian blue dukie on his 7th birthday today he is so much missed everyday. RIP my sweet boy. 😿-
Thinking of you ❤️
-
Christine, I had a Russian Blue – I named her Chivo. She literally walked in the front door. I picked her up and it felt like she was pregnant so I took her to a doctor and he said she was due within a week. I stayed home from work all week, waiting. And waiting….She didn’t get ant bigger, and no kittens came, so I took her to another vet and they said she HAD been pregnant. She was a mean cat – would attack me, was actually kind of scary, until we brought home a kitten in need. Well, Chivo took that little kitten to her, cradled and loved her, and became her mother. From that moment, Chivo was a sweet, loving cat. She just needed her babies. Sorry to ramble, but you brought up those memories and I think it’s good for all of us in our community to share our stories.
How long have you and Dukie been parted? How did you meet?-
Toni, thats a touching story im glad she ended up becoming nice. Its amazing what little kittens can do. Dukie passed away 9 months ago he had asthma. How did we met! Well..this might be long. I was working at a gas station and i came into work at 6 am and then around 8 am one of my co workers came to me and wanted me to come see something so he takes me outside and low and behold there is a little kitten about 2 months old sitting in the corner on a piece of ice mind you i live in ohio and it was winter and it was about 2 degrees outside when i saw him i could not let him stay there so my coworker got me a box i picked him up and he let me pick him up poor thing was probably so cold my boss let me take him home good thing i didn’t live far when i got home with him since i had 2 other cats at that time i told my boyfriend that i couldnt leave him in the cold and i would take him to the humane society the next day he stayed in the back room for two days probably thawing out…
-
Christine, this is so nice in so many ways: 1. He found you 2. You found him -good for your co-worker to show him to you 3. Good he didn’t get sick from the oil. Anti-freeze can be deadly, too (we have an article about poisons in our Library).4. Good for your boyfriend-Keep him, too! 5. Good for getting him on the right medications (Mine is on a number of things and we tried a liquid antibiotic and it was awful-she literally foamed at the mouth, so we went to what they call “tiny tabs” that are specially compounded and mailed to us). 6. Good for your other kitties to embrace him. Overall, Good for you all to be part of a loving family. The parting is hard, but the lives lived were not to be missed. We love stories and they can’t be too long. Keep sharing them. 🙂

Chelsea, Is this photo made to look like Domino is glowing? He does – he looks like beautiful light is surrounding him. What a sweet face. Now THAT’s a great Christmas gift! She looks much younger than sixteen. Where’s her party hat :-)?…She’s very pretty. What breed/s is she? I swear she is smiling in this picture-a glamour girl. We’d love to see more. Thank you for giving me a smile. Toni
-
She’s a Pomeranian 😊 that picture was taken several months before her birthday. She had just come from the groomers 😊
-
Ah ha – yes, I think we all look like glamour girls after we’ve been groomed :-)…..She’s adorable. Do Pomeranians have special dietary needs or personality traits?
-
Personalities are amazing♥️♥️

We all have our own, don’t we? She is a Princess for sure.

Celebrate 5 years, 6 months agoOur baby Andy just turned 15 today 02/05/21. We have enjoyed 14 of those wonderful years with him. He was a rescue from the Plaino, TX. Animal shelter and our friend picked him up for us. He was so dehydrated and emaciated, I took him to the vet the net day and he only weighed 3½. The vet was worried about him, they gave him his shot and the deformed just in case and told me to bring him in a month if he made it. We\’re the proudest parents because he fought and made it and now he dances everyday. I think he think has to make it his mission have us laugh for some reason or or another every day. We would love him any way we could have him but, we\’re so happy we have him the way he is. His beothers love him too and are protective of him.-
Andy is so adorable! He has the cutest face. I’m very glad you adopted him and saved his life. You are an angel.
-
Andy is a hero – a fighter who brings you love, joy and man, he dances too! I’m a fan of not just Andy, but you for caring for him and sharing your loving home (and dance floor). Love to see him dancing….Toni

Remember 5 years, 6 months agoThe first photo is of my beloved Autumn that passed 7 years ago. The second photo is of my kitty girl Caton who passed 3 years ago and her bunny brother Abner whom i just lost on 1/31/21. I miss them all so very much. When my boys remains come back i am having a glass piece made with their ashes in it. Our pets live on in our hearts forever. Prayers to all who have had a loss.-
Laurie, you are a very kind, loving person to have shared your love and life with these darlings. And yes, they do live in our hearts forever – or furever…We have a few community members who have shared cats and bunnies, and I think any animals who live in a safe, caring place live lovingly together. What glass piece are you having made? Have you seen the unique, beautiful hand-blown glass in our shop? The artist, Henry Duquette, carefully, lovingly creates a beautiful piece incorporating your remains (or fur). You might take a look. Laurie, it hasn’t been vert long since you said goodbye to Abner, and if we can help you in any way, please let us know. We’ll be thinking of you.

Remember 5 years, 6 months agoThe two pictures are of Tutu, the tuxedo cat, and Stripes. I have actually lost six cats in the past six years. Their names wete tippy, Dianne, twerp, topper, stripes and tutu. I really miss all of them, but thanks to Surus and Hex, my life is kept busy.-
Hi Geri. Well, you are definitely in the right place here…we are all about our pet loves and lives, and loss. I actually feel the conflict of missing the others and enjoying Surus and Hex..it’s a good/bad thing to have loved and lost, and get to love again and still…Good for you, and great for them to have you. I am so glad you are a part of our community, and if you want to lend your support to others in our community, that would be very kind of you. Keep us posted with pictures and adventures. Toni

Celebrate 5 years, 6 months agoThis is Syrus and Hex. I have actually lost six cats in the past six years. Syrus is the dog and Hex is the cat. I live alone so they are my soul companions. Syrus and Hex are both 2 years old.-
Thank you for the smile and chuckle I just got looking at them, Geri. I grew up with a dog and cat who were each six weeks old when we got them. They didn’t know they were not the same and were absolutely brothers. Prince (our 90 lb. dog) would take cat baths just like Tiger (our tabby cat), they would go carousing the neighborhood together (this was before leash laws and we lived near open fields) and they both died at sixteen. What wonderful memories your picture brings me. THANK YOU! I needed that. Toni
-
Thank you, yes Syrus and Hex are Best friends. I don’t think they realize that one is a dog and one a cat. They constantly play with one another. Hex plays with Syrus’s toys, but he seems to prefer them, Even though they are too big for his mouth. He kicks him around with his paws.
-
He’s a ‘cathlete :-). Love to see more pictures of them together….
