I lost all but one of my babies 6 years ago when someone broke into my house and burned it. I have one that her saving grace was that she was outside. After that I didn’t think I could love again. I love the most beautiful things in my life. They helped me after my marriage broke up. I couldn’t even save them. My heart still aches today. I miss them so much. I’ll always remember them. Thank you for starting this site, we need this.

Dawn, I can’t imagine how awful that was, and the memories still are. You are the second community member who lost pets to fire. Your story is a powerful reminder to post in our doors and windows: PETS in HOUSE. How many, and what types, i.e. cats, dogs, birds, etc. This alerts the fire rescue. And you are not alone in finding solace and support through difficult life events in the loving company of our beloved pets. I am glad you found our caring community, and hope you will keep us posted on what’s going on with you.
