My 17 year old pitbull named Dipstick crossed the Rainbow Bridge on September 23rd. I got him when he was 6 weeks old. He was the best dog I\’ve ever had. I miss and love him so much.

Crystal, Dipstick was so handsome and sweet looking. You were together a long time (how long?) and it is devastating to say goodbye. I am so sorry for your parting and hope you find smiles before tears with his memories.-
He was with me for 17 years. He was and always will be a part of me. His health was declining so fast that I made the decision to do what was best for him and have him put to sleep. His appointment was on September 23rd at 1pm. But when I woke up the morning of the 23rd he had already crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I believe in my heart that he didn’t want to die in a strange place, he wanted to die at home. I had him cremated that way he would still be at home with me.

What a lovely story, Crystal. Thank you for sharing this. I know it’s terribly painful and sad to say goodbye, but the years of joy and love are so fulfilling. What a gift Dipstick shared with you, to pass away on his own. That’s something we all wish for – to go peacefully in our own time. I am so sorry, and hope you are finding happiness in your memories.
