Mary, you are clearly an animal lover and have shared love with many. I hope you continue to open your home and heart to others who deserve a loving home and good life with you. Donna, I’ve read this several times and I hope that in writing your feelings, you find some relief from the pressure in your heart. Grief is real and the pain runs deep. Perhaps you can deliberately think of the good times, write down the funny things she did and look at pictures of her enjoying her life of love with you. The sad thing is, our pets have their own life spans and are only “on loan” to us, never for long enough. But Donna, would you not have wanted those times together? Even knowing you had to part one day, I suspect you wouldn’t trade those. These darn holidays can make things even harder and I hope you will continue to share you feelings and more photos with us, and that you allow good memories to come to you. She would want you to celebrate your lives together, and I hope you can do that. We’re thinking of you. {{HUGS}} -

Oh no, Victoria. I am so, so sorry and know how deep the pain runs. Even if, in our heads we know they are only “on loan” to us, and Henri is now comfortable and at peace, our hearts are broken. I hope, with time, your memories will bring you smiles before tears as you remember the wonderful life you shared. Thank you for this charming picture of Henri. What a handsome boy. This picture makes me a bit teary because my Beauty Girl was black too, and this is my first holiday without her. But, I am so grateful to have had her in my life, it’s hard to feel anything but happy for our time together, which is what I think you are feeling, too. Oh Darcee, she was so beautiful. I know it is lonesome and there is a hole in your heart, and home without her. This is my first year without my Beauty Girl. (You can see he memorial here: https://www.faithfulfriends.com/memorials/beauty-girl/

Amanda, this has been a tough year and I am so sad for you and your losses. It seems as if there has been a dark cloud this year and I hope it clears for 2023. What do you think – will you be able or ready to open yourself to more new loves, or will you take some time? It’s different for each of us and there is no right answer. I’m taking a “paws” for awhile after saying goodbye this year, and know many others are, too. Some are welcoming new faithful friends, some of us are waiting a bit.
