@kimndeeva2020 Kim – are you Deeva Marie’s mother? If not, who is your furry baby? Tell us about what you are going through if you like…

    • Yes I was Deeva’s mommy. She was the best dog ever… I got her when she was 5 weeks old. I raised her til she was almost 7yrs old. She was my ESA. I miss her dearly. She was diagnosed july 21st 2020 with lymphoma cancer it was very agressive. I had her put to sleep on Aug.4th 2020 due to suffering and in pain.. I couldn’t let her suffer.
        • Kim, Do you know how kind, generous and loving you are to have put Deeva above yourself? The most loving we can be is to do what’s best for them. My sister did the same kindness for her dog, I did it for my darling Squirt..and Tiger … and Cricket.. and Prince …they were all suffering and older. After any amount of time, it hurts. But, I think we, and they, know everything we do is in their best interest and for their best concerns.
Please stay in touch with us here. And if you think a conversation with a pet grief counsellor would be helpful, we have a wonderful resource available for you.Toni
        • I had her cremated and I have her ashes on my bed with me daily… I carry a sachel of her ashes with me where ever I go as well
            • Kim. Yes, I understand more than completely – that’s why we are here. Since you carry her with you, would you find a Memory Vessel meaningful? It’s a piece of jewelry that has two compartments for cremated remains, fur, whatever physical memento that is important to you, along with a USB flash drive to store your photos and videos. Or, the beautiful, handmade and exquisite “Forever in Glass” pieces that Henry Duquette makes that incorporate cremated remains in pieces of hand blown glass? I’m not trying to “sell” you anything. But I know these are treasured keepsakes. I have them for my departed loved ones (including my mother and my cat, Squirt). You can find them on our site, or I can introduce you to the providers if you like. We just want to help.

Jennifer, I understand. He is truly adorable. This pain is a different kind, isn’t it? There is a part of us that knows it’s okay – just not right now. I’m arranging a pet grief counsellor and hope to have that available by next week if that is meaningful to you. Until then, go ahead and let it out. We are a safe place and understand. Sending you a big HUG

I had a Water Shepherd, 90 pounds, and he would swim across the lake to our little fishing boat. Well, 90 pounds dry is like…a zillion wet!

Hi Everyone. Sorry I’ve been away today but my cat needed attention. She’s fine. We had another blood test yesterday and, we know she has internal inflammation for which she gets a daily antibiotic and steroids, but her kidneys and thyroid are off. Her doctor and I decided to hold off on thyroid treatment because a slightly elevated thyroid can help keep the kidneys functioning. I am writing this because: 1. These are the important issues and decisions we, as pet “owners” have to make and 2: We all try to do the very best we can in their best interest.
Does anyone have similar experience with kidneys and thyroids that can help me make better decisions? Thank you! Toni

That’s nice. My neighbor adopts only older Cocker Spaniels and has a garden area for them to rest.

Handsome boy. A water dog, based on the photos? What breed, or mix? Love the white on black coloring. It’s tough, isn’t it, Honey? But what joy we shared…….
                              • He was a great dane lab mix. The funny thing is he loved that blow up boat but didnt really like water at all

It’s clear you take care of your furry, faithful friends for them to be with you so long. How lovely of, and for you. Thank you for sharing. I’m going to be posting about the health challenges I’m having with my 17 year old and maybe you can help me with insights and suggestions.
