Yeah, I know. There’s an emptiness in the house, isn’t there? But when you can, looking at pictures and remembering the good times, how his fur felt and smelled, silly things you did together…those are the loving memories that are the gifts that always give. I think the holiday season makes it tougher…. stay with our community, and let us know how you are doing, and what’s happening with you. -

It’s clear you are wonderful pet parents. We’ll send you instructions about posting photos because we want to see them. I hope you are doing well, and have a nice holiday season. I can’t imagine the magnitude of feelings after that. It’s clear their memories are with you still, and I hope the good ones prevail in your thoughts. I hope you are doing well now. Oh gosh. I understand how awful that is. I had a nine month old kitten and she was killed by a car, Weird thing was, she refused to go outside until that particular evening. It’s really sad… But I hope you are remembering the good times you were able to share. -

So many of us carry the life long loves of our beloved pets, and will feel their absence always. It is my hope that with time, the happy and good memories will overcome the sadness and pain of loss. Jessy, I’m sorry and I know the season makes it even harder, doesn’t it? We just today introduced a grief counselor who is available if you want to speak with him. If not, please know our community is built to help support as we grieve and miss our beloved pets. Let us know what we can do, and please keep us posted on how you are. -

OH MY GOODNESS! What a Darling. I am especially moved because he looks like my old cat. Thank you so much for sharing his picture with us. I’m tearing up a bit, and that’s kind of good because the love never ends. Let us know how you are doing, please.-

That’s okay, I think we have special bonds with certain pets that are more deep than others. We love them all, care for and enjoy them, and wouldn’t trade our times together, but just like people, some touch us more deeply – we communicate on a different level. Is that what you feel? -

Kathy, I hear so many pet parents who have held their beloved pet as they passed and I wonder if that is one of the most loving moments we can share. The hardest, to be sure, but perhaps a gift? Do you feel good, or bad, about holding Princess in those moments? -

I’m okay. I started fostering dogs so I could honor sweet Leo. He was my baby and he was so sweet.

I foster cats who need medical care! That’s how I met and adopted my toothless, old black cat (I call her Cat, Beauty girl, Sweetheart – anything but her given name) and it is so rewarding to foster and help them find new forever homes. @lothelizabeth1 Welcome Elizabeth. I am sorry about Speedy. How did Speedy get that name? What type of pet was Speedy? Are you doing okay?

She was a cat and she got her name because she out ran my grandparents golf cart. And kept running to catch up to jump on it

We lost 3 huskies, 1 miniature Schnauzer and 5 kitties in October 2013 due to an electrical fire in my house. The other names I mentioned were furbabies that passed after that.

All I can say is that the pain and questions in my mind never go away, I lasted about 3 months until I knew I had to get another furry and I sincerely believe that Bonnie Angel was sent to me to save my sanity, after the fire. She developed a tumor on her face and we had her for 5 years, the tumor ruptured and we had to have her euthanized. Tucker was my then fiancee’s pup, 8 years old and while we tried to keep him comfortable and happy, we lost him this past May.
