@zombiegirl67 Margaret, I am sorry about Misty and hope you are doing okay. Are you? Please tell us about her and let us know how we can be helpful and supportive. Toni

    • Before misty came into my life I’ve always had dogs , me and my husband volunteered at a veterans clothing store. Misty was abandoned with her siblings and a couple found them and found homes for the rest but nobody wanted misty because she was the runt of the litter she fit in the palm of my hand when they brought her in the shop asking if anyone wanted a kitten I asked if I could hold her as soon as she handed me misty its like she reached in and took my heart I didn’t ask my husband if we can have her, I took her up and said meet the newest member of our family. She was with us for 11 years she confirmed me when I was crying after I found out my husband had cancer, she was by my side after I had my surgery for cancer, there was something special about her unfortunately last year she got sick and I had to put her down. But I stayed with her till the end because she was my girl and I didn’t want strangers faces be the last thing she sees as she crossed the bridge even though it tore me apart I kept telling her I loved her and I’m sorry I wouldn’t cry in front of her but as soon as I seen her soul leave her I cried because it killed me . as they carried her out I gave her one last kiss on the forehead . I cried for days and even to this day I find myself crying I’m sorry this is long but she was so special
        • Margaret, that’s not too long, and it is very special of you to share with us. I am crying a bit reading this, and maybe it’s good we cry to let the pain out. I think our animal friends have sense of us, and know when we need their comfort. I have had my share of that from my pets. Letting them go, helping them find release and relief is the kindest, most loving, selfless thing we do, and intellectually we know it’s a good thing to do for them, but emotionally it is devastating. You are very nice to have taken Misty, to love her and let her love you. The sweet memories will bring you joy as you heal, and it’s never wrong to shed tears for our missed loved ones. Please, stay with us here in the community, and let us know how you and your husband are doing, and if you open your hearts and home to another pet, we are here to celebrate that with you, too. Try to have a good holiday season. Hugs. Toni

@gypsyrose Hi Gypsy. You have had many pet loves, and losses. I am so sorry to see your tribute candles to Princess, Indekah, Dreamwalker, Adobe and Red. Those are exotic names and I would love to hear the stories behind them. And, we always want to see pictures. Do you have pets now? If so, we also celebrate the pets who are still with us, so please feel welcome to share them too. How are you doing? Is there anything we can do to help support you?

Christina, I am sorry about Jasmine. What made Jasmine and Precious so different? Precious is beautiful – do you have pictures of Jasmine, too? How long has Jasmine been gone? Does Precious miss her? I have a 17 year old cat I adopted four years ago, and Squirt many years ago and she died at nineteen. I still miss Squirt too, but LOVE my cat (yes, I call her Cat, Beauty Girl, Sweetheart, etc.) I will always love them all and think of them often. Please show us Jasmine, and stay involved with our community of pet lovers. Toni

@iluvbuster Hi Laura. I see your tribute candles to Buster and Jake, and am sorry for your losses. What type of pets were they? Did they live together with you, or at different times? May we see pictures of them? How can we support you?

Oh my! Beautiful. Thank you for the darling pictures. Do you mind if we add them to this community? Or would you like to do that? That’s quite a house full of lovin’ you have there. What? no fish or birds :-). I think most of us realize that a release from pain is a great gift. It’s so hard, but such a good thing for them.
            • Yes feel free to add to the community. Thank you Toni! You are a godsend. You came at the right time for my family and me💓💓💓

I really think holidays bring out memories and sentiments even more than other times of the year. And I agree with you-there is a freedom from pain that is comforting to those of us left behind. Do you have pets now?

@zeke0418 Hello Lam. I am sorry about SaraAnn and Meia. Just a guess, but was Meia a cat? It sounds like meow. I have a friend with a cat named Myia. Will you share some photos and tell us about them? How are you getting along?

Katie was very lucky to have found you. It’s soooo hard when they leave us at any age. I’m a little teary looking at her pictures. It’s not been very long since her passing and you need time to grieve. I am very sorry and hope you let us know how you are doing, and how we can support you. Toni

@ksubaby75 Julia, so sorry about Angel Baby and Chewy. How long has it been? I see you suffer from Fibromyalgia and wonder if you are treating that? I have a neighbor who has been on something for several years and finds relief. Let me if you want me to ask him what it is.

                    • Angel passed in 2013 & Chewy passed in 2005. I still miss them, especially Angel. I take medication for my Fibromyalgia but it doesn’t help. I’m in constant pain. Like a 24/7 full body muscle spasm.

I understand – I adopted a thirteen year old cat. She’s going to be seventeen in March and a month ago I thought she was dying. I was a wreck but blood tests indicate some kidney problems and she’s on medicine. Doing very well now, but at her age, I’m not sure how long we have left together. That’s the hard part – we know going in one day we have to say goodbye, but boy, the time we spend is so worth the loss. Do you think one day after you are feeling better you will adopt again?

Lisa, the greatest gift is love and the most selfless is giving release from suffering. Rather than think of yourselves, you put Juliet first. That’s love. Kindness. It sounds like you have a loving, understanding family. You are so fortunate. It’s horrible and painful and so sad to have them leave us, but just thinking of her best …. that is SO kind of you. How are you all holding up?
