@willubeleft Barbara, Dusty looks like my cat. I’m so sorry. How old was Dusty? Boy or girl? Mine is going to be 17 in March and isn’t doing too well so I’m up and down with her. Please let us know more about Dusty, and how you are doing. I’ll be thinking of you. Toni

I am doing okay as does he practically raised his to siblings so to speak and had to quickly get another one because my male Maine coon was going around crying for him

Oh no, how sad – he was only three? May I ask what happened? Maine Coons are very cool cats. We have a Celebrate section on the site so if you want to share photos of your other two cats there, we’d love to see them and learn about them, too. But I really am sad about Dusty. Toni

I’m not really for sure because we were giving him free food and before I knew it both boys were throwing up hairballs in my female mousse projectile vomiting he had a runny eye and I had to have it treated with lysine and almond and my mother Pig all the sudden wouldn’t eat and you started hiding and I thought maybe it was a flea but thing so I brought him down and we just gently washed him with Dawn next thing I know he dropped in my hands. The only thing I can think is he may have that I suspected he may have had man Coon in him and there’s no to have a heart issue that I’ve been out of those about it so it is so good been any of the three things

Oh Debbie – you are welcome, but I mean it – he looks like the color of tofu. I like to eat tofu…..rarely…but sometimes. But what a cute name that fits him. How is he doing? What is he doing? Winter is tough – no bugs to chase, or whatever he is in to 🙂 -

Tucker! You waited until you knew everyone was tucked in with love, and left them with your wonderful spirit. I can see it in the picture. I think our pets, and people, wait until they know we are okay, to leave us. I hope he was feeling well, and that you are doing well knowing the love you shared. Toni-

Anticipate, prepare for, experience, mourn and heal – the death of a beloved pet. Those are the processes I have always identified as the stages of the loss of our beloved pets.
I am in the “anticipatory” phase. It’s really hard. I know from experience, as do many of you, that we “pre-mourn” the death of a pet. I understand that can be a helpful thing for when they actually die. It’s awful. Painful. But I guess it helps prepare us for the reality.
Apologies if I’m rambling, but my darling girl is failing – she’s not suffering – but she is fighting her age and afflictions, and it’s hard. thanks for listening, and being here. Toni -

This community is built to be a safe place to share stories, photos and information – to share our sympathies and support, and encouragement. So, I am going to share with you and maybe some of you can lend me some advice or insight. My cat, soon to turn seventeen, has been on antibiotic and steroid for almost a year to treat a progressive internal inflammation disease. Recently she is experiencing thyroid and kidney changes. She wasn’t eating well, and started to make deep-throated meows – that’s new for her. Yesterday she started an appetite stimulant named ” Mirtazapine” and is eating better but her meowing is increasing, which the data says is a side effect. Does anyone have experience with this, please? Thank you. Toni

Taymor and Bella were my dogs. Both were rescue mutts. We lost Bella about 3 years ago and Taymor passed in November. They were both about 11 years old. Both still hurt a lot. I do have 2 more dogs. Holli is 4 years old and Fiona is 15 weeks. Thank you for your interest.
