Oh Carmen, is this Willie? What a darling boy. I am so sorry. This is the rub – the parting is so very, very hard, but the time spent together is so very, very wonderful, for us, and them. It takes time, and people like we are in our community, who understand, to work our ways through the grief to find the joy in memories. We are here for you and want to hear from you. Sending hugs, Toni-
Thank you. Right now the memories roll down my cheeks but I know it will get better with time
-
Carmen, yes it will take time, and when you least expect it, it will feel like it was only yesterday; although that will bring a tear to your eye, it will also put a smile on your face, knowing that Willie is still so dear to your heart.

Karen, you are touching me on so many levels: My cat Squirt was a long-haired “torty” ( tortoise) and died when she was 19. My beautiful girl now had her 17th birthday yesterday – we’ve been together four glorious years and we are treating a myriad of ailments, but she’s doing well. Twice, I thought we were going to have to part, but we’ve been able to address her problems. Both times, I was not able to stop crying. It’s just so hard. Intellectually we know they have had a good, long life, but emotionally – well, it’s devastating. The smiles WILL come before your tears… I promise. If it makes you feel better, please share your own thoughts and sympathies with others in our caring community. Please, let us know how you are coming through everything.-
I have a cat named Sweetness and she was close to Carmel and Princess and Sweetness is is 5 years old and I thought I was going to lose her due to her being sick in December but now she’s healthy and playing with Tabby 7-8 months old kitten.
I know Carmel was loved very much and it was hard losing her and I kept blaming myself for her getting cancer but found out her mother had cancer. She followed me around the apt and knowing she had cancer really hit me .
I know it’s tough losing a pet she was my second o e I lost . Princess died in 2018 died of old age 17 years old-
I’m so sorry you lost Princess and Carmel. I’m sure you are a great cat mom and I’m sure they are very grateful to you for making their time on earth a happy one.

I grew up around animals and Princess and Carmel are my first pets. They loved very much

@kgleason73 Welcome to our caring community, Karen. I’m guessing Carmel and Princess are cat names? Please tell us about them, and let us know how you are doing.

Carmel was 11 years old when she passed away. She was diagnosed with mammary gland cancer in may of 2020 and passed away on July 4th 2020 and she had a stroke. It’s been really hard on me it’s been 8 months since she passed and I cry myself to sleep at night sometimes. She was a great cat and well behaved and trained.
Princess was my first cat and she was 17 years old when she passed away . Carmel was a tortoise shell cat-

Ellen, I thought I was looking at my girl – Lizzie looks just like her! Even looking at her tail the way mine does. I am very sad for you and Angelina. It hasn’t been very long since you parted and it takes time for the tears to stop, and the smiles to take over. Please let us know how you are coming along. Hugs, Toni -

Oh Brenda, yes, you are right to be lost and you take as much time as it takes to move through the devastating reality of life without your beloved Cali. There is no timeline on grief and healing, but it does come, Brenda. One day you will have smiles before tears, but it is way too soon for that today. Cry, cuss, whatever comes out – it’s all okay. How long were you together? -
