Oh Lorraine, what a sweet, nice and touching tribute to Vinnie. He was SO cute. How are Spotty, Bear and Twiggy doing without him? I’m sure they grieve his loss, too. These darn holiday are tough, but I hope you bring up the many wonderful times you shared often and relish the life you shared with joy. I also hope this new year brings you all lots of fun and funny times, always with love. Toni -

Dawn, I’ve waited to say anything because I am so sad and sorry, and want to give you a little time to share with you that, last February when I said goodbye to my Beauty Girl, she had a seizure in my lap. It was the second (that I know of) and it was clear it was time for her leave rather than continue. Silver’s passing is awful, but for his sake, I am glad, and hope you share that sentiment. Our love has to be about what is best for them, not us, and we would keep them with us forever if we could, but we can’t. We know that in our heads. In our hearts, we ache and mourn and the pain is so very deep. But Dawn, would you have given up the years of love you gave and got with Silver knowing the parting would hurt so much? I wouldn’t. I suspect neither would you. I am so so very sorry. Please tell us how you are and what you are doing in Silver’s memory and absence.I am, we all are, thinking of you. {{HUGS}} and care. Toni -

You may also create a lasting memorial (for only $10. until Jan, 1) by clicking the Memorials tab at the top of this page. I am sorry for your loss of Charlie, and hope you are doing okay. Geri, it’s good to hear from you but boy, what a sad and tough year you and yours have endured. Let’s hope the new year brings better things for you all. Buttercup and Syrus sound cute. Oh Dawn, I am so, so very sorry to hear this. Thor was unwell for so long, perhaps it was a release for him and he is now at peace. But what a sad way to part, with you not being able to be there. Are you okay after your own accident? That sounds just terrible, too. This has been a tough holiday for you Dawn, and I know everyone in our community joins me in extending sincere sympathy and sorrow. Toni -

@fxdl09 Brian, I am so sorry. Yes, of course you miss Major, and he will always be with you. It is especially painful and very hard at the holidays, but…I am going to ask you to very deliberately think of the GOOD, FUN and FUNNY times you and Major shared each time you feel the pangs of missing him. I know it sounds awful to do, but really, it has helped me get through this first holiday without my Beauty Girl. It helps to remember why we entered into the relationship, what we wanted to give and get from that, and it humbles me to think she would have wanted me to be happy for our times together, not to be sad. She had her time here, and I was gifted by sharing it with her. Brian, can you try thinking of Major and the wonderful gift you shared together? I hope so, and hope you will let us know how you are doing. And please, may we see some pictures of Major if you like? We are thinking of you with understanding and support. Toni

Donna, I’ve read this several times and I hope that in writing your feelings, you find some relief from the pressure in your heart. Grief is real and the pain runs deep. Perhaps you can deliberately think of the good times, write down the funny things she did and look at pictures of her enjoying her life of love with you. The sad thing is, our pets have their own life spans and are only “on loan” to us, never for long enough. But Donna, would you not have wanted those times together? Even knowing you had to part one day, I suspect you wouldn’t trade those. These darn holidays can make things even harder and I hope you will continue to share you feelings and more photos with us, and that you allow good memories to come to you. She would want you to celebrate your lives together, and I hope you can do that. We’re thinking of you. {{HUGS}} -

Oh no, Victoria. I am so, so sorry and know how deep the pain runs. Even if, in our heads we know they are only “on loan” to us, and Henri is now comfortable and at peace, our hearts are broken. I hope, with time, your memories will bring you smiles before tears as you remember the wonderful life you shared. Thank you for this charming picture of Henri. What a handsome boy.
