Oh my, I had to enlarge the picture to see how fabulous the fur is. And those eyes! Is this a special breed? Looks like you groom a lot. Any particular tools you like? I have friends who use a Furminator on their long-hairs but I find the teeth pretty sharp and when I cat-sit for them, am very gentle when grooming.
      • That photo had to be taken a few years ago. No, actually I don’t groom him enough. My little fur baby doesn’t like being combed or brushed. He’s a biter. My sister has to help me with him. I use the regular brushes & combs for cats. Plus I have the Furminater de- shedder for long hair on him, short hair one for the other. I do have the Furminater de- matter, I don’t like that one.
          • Yep, those tools can be harsh. I have a grooming glove but it doesn’t really work. I have a small brush with metal prongs and gently groom my cat. But the very best we enjoy is slightly moist hands. If you can, will you send some more pictures, please? I think he is so gorgeous.

Wow-is she cute?!! Lots of energy and yes, I see she’s a character. How much does she weigh?

@flowergirl80 Sonya, How are you doing now? I think of you often and would love to know how you are doing. Toni

            • Oh hey, well I am slowly beginning to get better. For me it takes a while to heal. But I am going places we used to go, and am looking towards rescuing another doggie in memory of our beloved Ava. I have been busy but I am looking, forward to getting on here tonight and give some words of encouragement. Thanks for checking on me. It means a lot to me. Sonya ❤️🥰

@lissi888 Lisa, hello. Will you tell us about Cuddles, please? How are you doing?

                          • Hi Toni.
Cuddles was a toodle. He came from a home that kept him on a chain out in the front yard because “he keeps pooping inside and won’t be potty trained”. It was heart wrenching. I saw him there day after day. One day I finally stopped to look at his poor matted little guy who stunk to high heaven. The owner told me they hated him so I asked if I could have him. They gave him to me there and then. I took him home and my dogs trained him not to potty in the house. He had a total of 2 accidents and thereafter was my dog. He went with me everywhere until he was 16 years old. In fact, he went more places with me than my husband did. My husband even had to bring him camp where I was working as the cook because he stopped eating while I wasn’t home. He was my familiar at the time. And remains in my heart for always. He will meet me at the rainbow bridge when I go.
I’m doing well now but I cried for a week when he passed. I still get teary when i talk about him.

                            Lisa

                              • Hi again Lisa. We were speaking with Waggle.org today and I shared your story about Cuddles. Your story has quite an impact and just shows what a difference one person, extending kindness, can make. You rock!

Oh Monica, this is so tragic on so many levels – the person looking after Diva must be devastated. I would be. It’s every pet-sitters nightmare come true. Then there is the person who hit Diva – do you know who that is? They must also be devastated. But NOTHING comes close to what You are going through, Monica. I am struggling to express my sorrow for you, and for Diva. I have tears for you both. Let’s get through this together, shall we? Our community is here for you, I am here for you, and I hope you let us be with you. Again, I am so, so saddened and sorry…..

Wow, Carry, you are a wonderful pet lover to take in and embrace so many lives. I admire you and am glad you are in our community. I am so sorry you had to part ways but you really helped him through so much. Are his brothers doing okay? Please, stay in touch with us, let us know how you are, and if you want and find some community members that touch you, reach out to them, too. I’ll be looking for your updates. Toni

Lisa, I have candle tributes for my beloved pets from when I was a little girl – I’ll never forget them, will always love them, and they each have a lifelong lesson and love for me.

Brenda, yes, you are among friends who truly feel and know the pain of loss. I could say we also know the joy of love, but when it hurts, it really hurts. The love is, and will always be, with us, and some day the pain will lessen, but there is no timetable on the pain and grief, so you feel welcome to share with us. Our arms and hearts are here to catch you. Toni

Angela, you did the most selfless thing by relieving Parker of pain and suffering. As a pet parent/friend, that’s one of our obligations in caring and loving for them – to not let them suffer. It is excruciating to make that decision, and you made it to benefit Parker. That doesn’t make it easier for you, I know, but it may bring you comfort to know Parker knew you loved him in helping him. Please let us know how you are doing, and when you can smile with Parker’s memories before you cry.

Oh, Tammy, I am shaken by what happened to Toby. How horrible. But how lovely for Shiloh to come into your lives. Of course no one “replaces” another, but rather opens our hearts to even more loving relations with other loving friends. You are kind and generous to give Shiloh a place in your home.. I hope to see more pictures and stories about your life with Shiloh. Thank you for sharing with us.

Judy, Thank YOU for your open heart and mind, sharing your kindness and love with Roo, and with us. Your story is so touching and eloquently expressed, we are grateful to have you and Roo in our community – it’s all about love….the joys, fears, understanding, acceptance, and yes, the deep pain of loss when we part from a beloved pet/friend. It’s also about sharing – symptoms and what they might mean, treatments, and, importantly, extending sympathy and support when it’s most needed to our fellow community members and Faithful Friends. I hope to see more of Roo, and You here. Hugs to you both. Toni

Wow – they are like my sister and me – she’s blonde, blue-eyed, and I’m brunette, brown eyes. Don’t have the same coloring, but couldn’t be closer !
