@marshamiller Hello Marsha. Welcome to our caring community. Please tell us about Gus and Gizmo. What kind of pets were they? Did they live with you at the same time? Are you doing alright?

@arainbear Linda, I am sorry for your losses of Thor and Ms. Loki. I wonder, because of those names, have you read an author – Kevin Heard? He writes about Norse gods and your pet names make me think of them. Linda, please share your stories about them, and if you have pictures, we would love to see them. How are you doing, Linda?

@sandra1957 Sandra, how nice of you to open your heart to another love. Of course you are not “replacing” Mindy. That you can welcome a new love to care for and about is such a lovely thing. It takes time, and when you are ready, I know it will be right and good for you both. It took me quite awhile to be ready again and now I can’t imagine being without my old girl (I adopted her when she was 13 and she just turned 17!). The house was pretty empty before she came along and I didn’t even know it. Go at your own pace, and thank you for letting us walk this path with you. When you bring your new faithful, furry friend home, let us hear the story and see some pictures, please. Hugs.
-
Thank you Toni I will let you know when I do this
-
Oh, absolutely do, Sandra. I admire you and your kindness.
-
You have been great helping me through this trying time I have been going through and I want to thank you so so much God bless you
-
Oh Sandra, you are a dear, kind person. It’s really okay to hurt. It’s really okay to share, and know you have us to share that with you. Bless you, too.

Dear Valerie. So many things you bring up: Loving does not have anything to do with environment or life style. It’s the size of the heart, not the house, that matters. Adopting is always a lovely, caring thing to do. Everyone has a purpose. Each animal is a special love, never meant to “replace” another. It’s hard to re-open your heart and home after the devastating pain of losing a beloved pet, but you are very generous to re-open yours to a new love. It is generous, thoughtful and kind of you to extend your sympathy and encouragement to others in our community who are also hurting – it’s why we are here – to support one another with kindness and understanding. Thank you for your sharing, and caring. Let us know if you adopt a new love, and let us know how you are doing. -

I was looking at pictures of the pets with whom I grew up and even after decades have passed, I got choked up, so we all understand how memories are the enduring gift of loving, and some tears come along with them. Do you have a picture, or pictures, of Snowball we can see? Will you adopt a new furry friend? Keep us updated, please. Thinking of you. -

Kathy, I am pretty sure that, when we say their spirit lives on with us, dreams are a part of that. We think of and miss them when we’re awake, so why not while we sleep….Grief is a process of pain and joy. There is no right or wrong way to heal. Keeping Dale in your thoughts, awake or sleeping, is part of this process. It sure can hurt though. We’re here for you to share your pains, and when you have joyful memories, those too. Keep us with you. Sending HUGS….. -

I am so glad you wrote this, Dianne, because Kathy is dreaming about her beloved Dale, and I think that may be another way their spirit stays with us. Perhaps you can share some of your comforting words with her.-
If she sees her beloved Dale in her dreams, that is him letting her know he is okay and he loves and misses her.I am no medium or anything like that.I have been seeing spirits since the age of 15.But now I am starting to ser animal spirits.
When a pet visits they stay long enough to make sure their favorite person is okay and then they go back home.-
Hi Dianne. I don’t want to open wounds, but yesterday was one year for your parting from Bessie and I am thinking of you. I know you are bust getting ready to move, and hopefully that is occupying your time and thoughts. Please, let us know how you are doing. Since you have Bessie’s remains, you might like to check out our Forever in Glass hand-blown pieces. They are a lovely way to keep her with you. With my warmest wishes, Toni.

Elizabeth, at the bottom of this page is a tab “Giving Back”. Click that and the last entry is Waggle.org. Click that to get to their website. They may be able to help pay for veterinary services for Shadow. Let me know if you need help with that. And let us know what you find out from them. I am sure Shadow knows and is caring for you with her love. I am very sorry for your troubles and hope we can help.-
Thank you for reaching out and for the recommendationI was unable to find anywhere on their website that I could get help. Of course I have chemo brain and perhaps missed it. But I was pretty thorough looking

Oh gawd, Arlene. I am so very sorry and really understand the emptiness at the end of your bed. Mine sleeps on my chest and is old, ailing, and I dread the day( or night) she isn’t there. Like you, I don’t have a lot of pictures but that doesn’t matter at all – we have the memories of the loves and life we shared. Arlene, please let us know when you find smiles before your tears. And, if and when you are ready, extend your understanding and sympathy to others in our community. -

Valerie, Thank You for saying what I have been thinking, and didn’t know how to say it. Yes, the pain of losing a parent or human friend is devastating, but the death of a beloved pet is more than brutal – it is almost a loss at the cellular level. My mother died of ALS which is one of the cruelest diseases. When she passed it was a relief and release for her, and I miss her to this day, and will every day. But, that is the natural progression – our elders are supposed to proceed us. With our pets, even though we know intellectually, they are only on loan to us, they are always our babies and saying goodbye is never a “good” bye…it is a heart break. I truly get it, as do all of us here in the community. I have tears for you and really hope you will stay with us with your honest and sincere feelings. It is why we are here. We understand and embrace you. I am sending you a HUG. Toni -

Arlene, I am so sorry. That must have been a shock. Poor Jada. There wasn’t much you could do, and helping ease her way was the most loving, generous thing for you to give her. How old was she? May we see some pictures? How are you coming through this?-
She was 14 years old. I don’t have any pictures of her. She would always lay at my feet on the bed, it seems so empty now without her there
