Jane, hello and welcome to our caring community. I’d love to hear about Boots – that was my Mother’s first dogs’ name. Was Boots a dog, too? Please tell us about Boots, share stories and photos if you like, and let us know how you are doing.

Hi Sherry. Wow – 20 years. Were you together for most or all of that time? How fortunate for you both. When did she say goodbye? What kind of pet was Socks? Would you like to share some pictures with us? Do you have pets now? -

Hi again, Kate. It’s good to hear from you, and thank you for telling us more about Layla and Jack. I think it’s nice that Jack’s presence is still with you. Hopefully it comforts you. We all know another love doesn’t “replace” Jack or Layla, it’s an addition to, and expansion of the loves in your life, and only when the doors to your home and heart are ready to open will you welcome that. When it does happen, we hope you’ll share your joy with us, too. Keep us updated, let us know how you are doing, and stay in touch. Toni -

@seniordogmom Hello and welcome, Stacy. Epifanio is such a unique name – please tell us about it. And, please tell us about Epifanio: what kind of pet, how you met, how long you were together….I am sorry for your loss and hope you are doing okay.

Thank you Toni for reaching out. Here is a tribute that I wrote and was published on MardiPaws.com.
Epifanio “Fanny” Joseph Castagna
2.4.16 – 10.17.18Pulled from a high kill shelter, I adopted Epifanio “Fanny” Joseph Castgana, a 6/7-year-old Boxer, from Louisiana Boxer Rescue on February 4, 2016. I have always had a soft spot for senior and/or special needs’ dogs. Fanny had his share of medical issues. Less than a week after adopting him, he underwent surgery to remove a digit due to cancer. He also suffered from heartworms and seizures. However, his medical conditions did not slow him down. He was my best friend. My partner in crime. While I am currently on my fourth senior rescue dog, there will always be a bond that Fanny and I had that cannot be explained.
In 2017, Mardi Paws selected Fanny to be the “King of the Throne”. In 2018, he was “Epifanio the ‘UniBOXERcorn’”. The pup-arazzi loved taking pictures of him! Since his photos were always pawfection, Fa…

I\’m ordering one of our Handpainted ornaments by Britta, with this artistic rendition by April. (I could just use the actual photo, but love the art). Britta hand paints them and can add dates of birth, adoption, death, this year – \”2021\”, my cat\’s name…whatever I want. A friend of mine ordered two as gifts for his mother\’s dogs, and loves them. It\’s \”Christmas in July\”! -

Oh Shannon, what a little doll. You are very kind and generous to save so many souls, and share them with us. More pics, please :-). The fires out west are so awful. The air here in Colorado is very hazy and icky from all the western fires’ smoke. Let’s hope for rain and cooler temps. -

Beth, you are so kind to share such comforting sentiments. I do think, with our limited time together, our beloveds go on to frolic and share joy and love. Thanks so much for your inspirational messages. Toni -

@bennymama14 Hi Elizabeth. Welcome to our community and please know we are here to help you as you remember your beloved pets. Will you tell us about Benny and Champ, please? What kind of pets were they? How did you meet? How long were you together….any and everything you would like to share with us. And we love pictures, too. Are you doing alright, Elizabeth? I hope so, and we understand if it’s a tough time for you. Hugs, Toni

Debra, I know… The house feels empty and quiet; little things trigger the waves of deep grief and tears. Intellectually, we know our beloved pets are only “on loan” to us, but emotionally, the depth of love we gave and received makes it so, so hard. Eventually we find smiles before tears. I believe joy shared is joy doubled, grief shared is grief halved. We are here to help you, and share your pain. Hugs -

Kesha, You are so nice to extend your support and sympathy to Debra and others. It means so much to have our community be here for each of us, to share the pain and get through the grieving process, and of course, to share and celebrate happier times, too.
Since you mention other memorial items, you might love to have a hand-painted holiday ornament of Kimora – look in our Shop. I can attest to the quality of our throws, too.
Everyone can create a memorial on our “Memorials” tab if you like. Kesha, thank you again for being a member of our caring community. Please keep us updated, and reach out to others if you want to sympathize – it’s very meaningful. - Load More
