That was so hard to watch – the poor little thing was terrified and must have been exhausted. I’m glad the commentators were sympathetic, that the cat got off the field, and hope it’s home getting lots of love. Herding cats, indeed…….-
In retrospect, I do feel bad for the poor cat-
At a minimum, it should have tried out for a better team 🙂

Ohhhh Jan, I am choked up reading your words and feeling the depth of your pain. The footprints in the sand carry so much sentiment, too. I am sorry, and hope knowing we are here for you gives you some comfort, as does this HUG from me. Toni -

@fourdogs24 Hi again Jan. Not sure my message to you got through, and again want to say I am sorry for your loss of Brianna. That’s a beautiful name. May we hear about her, see some photos? How are you doing, Jan?

I am so glad to hear from you, Stephen. I’ve been thinking of you and wondering how you are doing. I know it’s hard to read the pain we share here. I tear up so often reading the stories and seeing the pictures, but because we all care and understand the pain of parting from a beloved pet, I hope it helps to share. I have always thought Joy shared is joy doubled, grief shared is grief halved. You are generous and thoughtful to share YOUR understanding and sympathies with others. It really means a lot to know we have one another. You may find some smiles and joy reading some of the happy news that is shared. Lisa has a new black kitten! Tani has some funny photos…. And Stephen, please let us know how you are coming along. Here’s another HUG. Toni -

Shelley, how are you today? I keep coming back to the photo of Waylon James and have tears – you must still be aching and we are all so very sad with you. I think my cat is beautiful, but must say Waylon James is possibly the sweetest cat I’ve seen. Those eyes! He is touching everyone in our community and we are all sharing your grief, and sending you our support. -

Hi Dianne, it’s so good to hear from you. The anniversaries bring so many memories and can be tough, but can also bring so much happiness. My girl (17 yr. 5 mo.) is still doing well, for which I am grateful. You are so nice to reach out to everyone – we are here to support one another and even after the truly brutal times after the initial loss, even little things can stir up a lot of emotion. I hope you have been reading some of our member’s posts – some are funny, some bring me to tears. Feel welcome to comment on any you find meaningful. Stay in touch, Sweetie 🙂 -

Jolene, you are a girl after my own heart – I clean my cat’s box after every use. No one wants a dirty litter box! And, you recognize that Kayla Bee enjoyed a long, loving life with you, even though it hurts so very much to say goodbye. I am also so sorry about your Mother – mine died of ALS and it was a relief and release for her, but boy that’s so hard, too. You are a sweet, kind person, and if you feel like it, please share your sympathies and understanding with others in our community who are also going through a sad, painful time. I look forward to seeing more of you, and am sending a heartfelt HUG. Toni -

@jolenemwilson Hello Jolene, and welcome to our caring community. I am sorry for your loss of Kayla Bee and wonder how you are doing – okay? What kind of pet was Kayla Bee? Would you like to share some stories and pictures with us?
-
Hi and thank you for the warm welcome 🙂 Kayla Bee was my 16 yr old Pekingese that I lost last month. She had ear cancer that spread. My mom passed away in 2019 & I didn’t have the heart to take Kayla to the vet when my mom was in hospice because I knew what they would have suggested. Kayla was doing good then though she was eating and didnt seem in any pain. I miss her, but I also know that she had a good life. Ive never met a dog as meticulous as her and never met one that hated any type of urine/feces anything near her sleeping area lol. She would bark non stop until someone cleaned it up no lie. Im grateful that I had her for 16 yrs she was such a sweet dog.

Linda, you and your husband are angels for rescuing those poor little girls. Ellee’s unexpected passing is shocking and didn’t give you, your husband nor Karlee a chance to prepare. Karlee probably smells Ellee’s scent and is puzzled about her whereabouts. When we have a chance to anticipate and prepare for death, our other pets know what’s happening, and saying goodbye at home with them helps them say process, but Karlee didn’t have that experience. I am so sorry and hope you ALL find comfort in one another. In a way, it was nice for Ellee to not have suffered a lingering illness or injury, and dying in her beloved Daddy’s arms had to bring her comfort. Linda, please believe me that I am not trying to ‘sell’ you something, but a very loving gift for your husband would be one of our hand-painted ornaments of Ellee, or our throw with a picture of the two sisters woven into it. I really don’t want to sound ‘salesy’, but either of those would be meaningful memorials for Ellee if you think that would be nice. Of course the best gift is having your love and support, and I am sure he and Karlee are helping lift you. Linda, please let us know how you are coming along, give Karlee a pet from me, and thank you for rescuing pets in need. Here is a HUG for you. Toni -

@doggymommyx2 Hello Linda. I am sorry for your loss of Ellee and hope you are hanging in okay – are you? Was Ellee a Schnauzer? May we see some pictures and hear about her?
-
Hi, thank you for asking about our Ellee. She was a Shih-Tzu, and she died unexpectedly the Friday after Mother’s Day this year….it seems like yesterday. She and my hubby were best friends, and she died in his arms 😢 It’s been kind of a long summer having lots of “firsts” without her. It’s just never easy. She has a sister, Karlee, who just can’t figure out where she is. Both of our girls were puppy mill rescues, and we adore them 🐾❤️
-
Sadly, I am not sure how to post a picture here. I haven’t even found her star yet. Sigh.
-
Hey Linda, I’m sorry to hear about Ellee. All of the stars can be viewed on our home page (simply faithfulfriends.com). I see Ellee on the first row right now 🙂
-
Hi, and thank you…I just found her ❤️

Thank you for your moving and sweet story about Gertrude, Misty. She was a close, cherished friend of yours and I know how much it hurts to say goodbye. Little things can bring the tears out of the blue – right? Are you finding smiles come, too, as you look at the roses and think of her? There is no set amount of time for healing and you are welcome to share how you are doing. Also, if you read some posts here that touch you, please share your own understanding and sympathies with our other community members – we’re here to help comfort. I am sending you a big HUG. Toni -

@mommabear254 Hi Misty. Gertrude is a powerful name – what kind of pet was she? I am very sorry to hear of your loss and hope you are doing okay – are you? Still rough times? May we hear about her please?
-
Gertrude was my best friend! She was a German Shepherd / Border collie mix with a heart of gold. I rescued her at only 7 weeks old and we spent 13 wonderful years together. She was such a funny, silly, smart, loving, caring furbaby!Gertrude absolutely loved the rose bushes we planted. She would smell the flowers every morning when they were blooming. She loved putting her face into the wind with her nose up to the sky and just soak in the day or cuddle with some covers watching a movie or reading a book. I could spend forever talking about her. I miss her so much. She crossed the rainbow bridge july 21, 2019 to a major stroke. I miss her dearly. Mornings are the wose for me. I still wake up some mornings and roll over to pet her before I remember she is not here. She is buried in my yard under a big tree. I cut some rose blooms off our roses and place them on her grave cause she loved them so much. There are still rough times for sure. She was amazing!
