    Hi Tammy. Is this Emmett?

Stephen, I don’t believe we’ve met Victoria before. I remember Ariel. Did they live with you at the same time? We grieve and heal in our own times and I hope sharing your pain, and stories with us helps you to know you have caring people who truly understand with you to move through it. It’s really hard. Victoria’s eyes are soulful – she was a sweetheart, wasn’t she?
        • Actually the top photo is Ariel and the bottom photo is Victoria. They got mixed up somehow.Ues they both lived with us since puppies.17 years.Passed away 3 months apart.I miss them so.
            • They were with you for so many life experiences, shared your ups and downs, those are big holes in your day to day life. How fortunate to have enjoyed so many years together, though. When my 19 year old died it was very mixed for me – she was old and needed to go, and I understood that, but she was with me through so many times that she left a void. It’s been long enough that her memory always brings smiles, but it takes awhile to get there. Please keep letting us know how you are.

Dawn, It’s shocking to not have a warning, but for Ginger’s sake, to pass in her sleep without suffering was a kindness to her. You should still be reeling and in pain – what a terrible shock and loss. I am very sorry and sad for you and hope you will allow yourself to stay with your grief as long as you need. One day you will find smiles before tears when thinking of Ginger, but that only comes with time. What a sweet face. Was she a mixed breed? How long were you together? How did you meet? Please let us know how we can help you, Dawn. I am sending you a HUG.

                Toni:
Thank you. I met Ginger at a Pet Smart on Mother’s Day 2010. There was a rescue there. I saw Ginger and we locked eyes. I knew I had to have her. They didn’t know how old she was. The lady said she rescued her from a Shelter in South Central L.A. as they were wheeling her to that dreadful ROOM! Thank goodness she did. Ginger was my soul dog. She was so sweet and everyone just loved her. The Vet thinks she was around 5 when I got her. She passed away May 7th. 2021. I had her for 10 years and 2 days. She passed away the Friday, of Mother’s Day weekend. She gave the best hugs, and was a wonderful dog. I miss her so much. 💔😥
                  • What a loving and touching story, Dawn. Thank you for sharing this with us. Terrilynn said it very well and I hope it helps to know others care and understand. Pease let us know how you are coming along.

Hi Roy :-). Will you share some photos of their parents, please? We want to see how Keika and Capri look so different. Adorable, but not like each other! Thank you.

Just got her kidney results and, while not improving, they are holding steady. She seems a bit better today and I’ll infuse saline at home more often – with compromised kidneys she tends to get dehydrated which, is very bad for pets and people. Thanks for listening. I hope it helps if you are having similar issues.

To our Community members, new and \”old\” πŸ™‚ One of our main missions in this community is to share the joys of life with our faithful friends, but also to support one another as we anticipate, prepare for, or experience the death of a beloved pet. I\’m not sure what stage my beauty girl and I are in. She is 17 1/2 and we have been treating her for high blood pressure (remember when she suddenly went blind due to that? Her vision came back with the meds), hyperthyroidism, a progressive internal inflammatory disease, and failing kidneys. But, she seems to be feline fine πŸ™‚ and is in good spirits. But, these past few days she\’s not been herself, and we saw the vet again today, had \’catupuncture and a saline infusion. We\’re waiting for the blood test with a kidney function reading. I\’m sharing this with all of you kind and caring pet friends of ours because that\’s one of our reasons for being together – to share what we\’re going through, good or bad, or uncertain. We\’re good for now. I sincerely having you all here to speak with. No need to comment. I just needed to get it out. Thank you, and HUGS all around :-). Toni

Roy, you keep surprising me. I would have thought Keika would be the ball of energy :-). We’re going to enjoy watching them grow up! Thank you for sharing, and for the smiles πŸ™‚

Roy, I don’t believe this! These are sisters, same litter, and yet they look so different…. Keika looks like her Chihuahua mother, and Kapri like her Westminster Terrier, but they look nothing alike. Are their personalities different?
                            • Roy replied 5 years ago
Very much, Keika is the layed back sister and Capri is a ball of energy who can’t sit still. It’s such a joy to see them play.

She was a “Long Haired ‘Torty’ (short for tortouise)” which looks like a very fluffy calico :-). She, like three other cats literally walked up to my door and adopted me. I’ve always suspected I smell like catnip, to attract these wanderers :-). I’ll look for photographs and take pictures of them and see how they look to post and share. Are Binx’s eyes blue?

Oh, I meant to mention I had a cat named Squirt, too. She was 19 when she died, a long time ago (pre-digital photos so I don’t have one to share). We are excited to watch little Binx grow and hear about his antics :-). So happy for you both!
