@alicechaney Hello and welcome Alice. I am sorry for your loss of Chewy. How did he get the name? How did you meet, and how long were you together? May we see some pictures, and hear about your lives together? How are you holding up, Alice?

Chewy was my 1st foster and my foster failure. She was absolutley the best baby. She got her name from the high school band kids their performance was Star Wars. She had been choked and her treacha was twisted she sounded like Chewbacca. We only had her a little over 2 years . She survived abuse and cancer. She passed in August 2021 from congestive heart failure. We are still very much broken hearted 💔

Alice, it hasn’t been very long for you to grieve, and the traumatic little life Chewy had makes it even more heartbreaking. But what a wonderful thing for you all to have had the loving time you did. As a Foster Flunky myself, I know that when we fall, we fall hard. The pain of parting is strong, and so is ‘the force’ of loving memories. I hope you find smiles before tears with her memories soon. Thank you for fostering and caring. Sending you a HUG.

Oh, how sweet Linda. Sounds like she had a life filled with love. There is no timeline on grieving, and I hope you are finding smiles before tears with her memory. Will you show us a picture? -

The hardest, most selfless and kind thing you could do was grant him a peaceful passing at home. It still takes healing and passing through the grief for you, but he didn’t have to needlessly suffer, for which you can take comfort. When, and if, you feel like telling us the symptoms that led you to the Vet, we appreciate knowing. And if you want to share more pictures and stories with us, we love to see them. Waggle.org is not the kind of fundraising you are thinking of. They pay the Vet directly, not the pet parent. Please look into how they serve at http://www.waggle.org and ask Crystal to clarify. They may be able to pay your Vet for her care. 🙂 -

Hi Dianne. How is she doing? Did you connect with Crystal at Waggle.org? There is an appetite stimulant called Mirataz that is gently rubbed in the ear and it really works. I think it’s a prescription from your Vet. Please let us know what’s going on. I hope it’s good 🙂-
Hi Toni.Well she is eating but not as much as I would like,but baby steps.I cannot do any fundraiser as I am on SSI and they can check into my bank account.-

She is not having diarrhea like I said she was,her stool is soft, definitely not runny anymore.

Trudy, is this Thaddeus? What a handsome fellow. I am so very sorry for your parting. How old was Thaddeus? How did you meet? How did you discover the mass in his spleen? Thanks Toni, yes this is the boy. Adopted him at 7 months from Good Karma Rescue . No one was interested in him because they listed him as Rottie/Lab. DNA test later showed he was German Shepard/ Boxer. He was not eating so took him in, they took X-rays and called me in to review. It was huge. Vet said sooner than later cause I did not want it to rupture. 2 days later a traveling vet came to his house.it was very peaceful.Aug 27th

Thank you so much Toni. Yes I am still in pain and I miss him so much! He was such a good boy. Saw me thru many sad and difficult times and we had such a wonderful life together too. He was so sweet and never asked for anything much but my love and a bite of my food. LOL He was always right beside me, wherever I was. Wanted to go everywhere with me and if he couldn’t he would pout for awhile, but never too long.-

Oh Dreama, how fortunate you both were to have 17 loving years together. It’s so hard to say goodbye after spending so much of your life with him, through all the good, bad, up, down…but what a treasure to have a long, what I figure was healthy, life for Scrappy. I am so sorry for his recent passing, and so happy you got to be with him so long. Thank you for sharing his pictures and your tribute.
