Dianne, How are you two doing? I find, if I hold her plate and tilt it, especially so she gets the juices, she eats more. Please let us know what’s going on. Thinking of you….. -

Dolly, I can’t tell you how much it touches me to hear from you, and with such a sweet story of salvation for your little bitty kitty friend :-)..Midnight is probably grinning from ear to ear for you both, don’t you think? Oh boy – what are you calling him? May we see pictures of him, and Midnight (I don’t see any of Midnight). It’s easy to upload photos – just click on the camera icon in the lower left of the “comment” area. Of course, you don’t have to, but I love to see pictures – they do tell stories. Dolly, I know you carry the pain of loss, but what a nice, caring, loving person you are to bring this new love into your life. I bet he will sleep with you, too, and help you find joy, and remember Midnight with smiles, knowing while he is always with you, you get to share more love, again, with someone who really needed you when you needed him – don’t you think? Thank you for updating us and being a wonderful, caring part of our community. Sending hugs to you BOTH ……. -

Oh Clarissa, how terribly sad to lose Banjo at such a young age. I am just heartbroken for you. I have had two kittens who were very young when their little lives were over and it is such a touching and tough thing to move through and understand. And these darned anniversaries just bring up strong memories and feelings, so I know what you mean about that date in October. There’s nothing for it but to give yourself the day to honor and remember Banjo, embracing the world of love for a lifetime he shared with you. The book/journal “Griffin’s Heart” may be a good tool for you to help heal – others in our community have found it helpful. (It’s in our shop, but I am truly not trying to ‘sell’ you, I just know it can help). May I ask what happened to Banjo, if it’s not too painful? Would you like to share some pictures with us? We’re here for you, Clarissa, with much sympathy and support. Hugs, Toni -

Congratulations, Michael! You made me research Eclectus and Green Cheek Conjures – two types of bird of which I had not heard. Wow, are they pretty, and I know how birds can be – very “chatty” :-). Thank you so much for sharing your family (zoo) with us, and you can bet we’d love to see pictures of each and all. -

@clowymaxine Hello Clarissa, and welcome to our caring community. I am sorry for your loss of Banjo. Please tell us about Banjo and your lives together. Are you doing alright?

I’m alright thanks for asking but I’ll never be the same.
I had banjo since the day he was born in august of 2019. (His mom was a friend of mine furbabie) and he was the one for me when he took his first breath. He was and always will be my heart. He knows secrets that nobody will ever know. When I was at my lowest time after separating from my husband of 16 years, banjo was there. It was just us two. he was the best dog, best friend, and the best thing that ever happened in my life. I had him only 14 months, yes I say only because it was not enough time. I lost him Oct 23rd last year. It’s coming up on a year and I don’t want that day to come. I will love him forever until we meet at the bridge and go home together.-

Hello Clarissa. I am thinking of you today. It’s been one year since your precious Banjo departed and it is a tough (to say the least) day for you. Would you like to tell us how you are doing, what you are doing to help yourself? Do you have pictures of Banjo to share? We’re here for you. I am sending you a {HUG} and my best thoughts. Toni

Oh Sydney…not Bart? Oh, I am so very sorry. I remember you said goodbye to Taffy almost four years ago now, and I guess Bart was one of your “senior” pup companions, over 12, and I am so so sorry, Sydney. My Dawg, what a face :-). How handsome was he! You are so kind to share so much with so many, Sydney. And thank you for sharing with us. It’s only been a few days and your pain and tears are surely flowing, so know we are here for you, with our support, understanding and Hugs. ๐ …… -

Ohhhh….Dreama, Scrappy is too cute and you are so nice to give him ‘wheels’ when he needed them. You have brought a few tears to my eyes, and touched us all… If there’s a problem with pets it’s that they are only on loan to us and we have to say goodbye… BUT-what love and joy we got, and gave with them. Thank you for sharing this sweet picture, your feelings, and being with our community that cares so much. I am, and will be, thinking of you. Hugs. Hugs. Hugs. Toni -

My house is currently a zoo! We have two eclectus (a male and a female), two green cheek conjures, a cat (an orange tabby female who’s the sweetest cat ever), two dogs (a chihuahua and a havanese), and a guinea pig. The eclectus are definitely the most work as they need a lot of care attention but it’s worth it as they are very smart and caring. I have special attachment with the green cheeks as they view me as a part of their flock. They think my name is cheekie and will start hollering for me if I wake up too late or they want my attention.

Dear Gerilyn, you must still be very sad, it hasn’t been very long, and who knows when those tricky triggers like seeing a favorite food or toy will bring you to your knees. Ah yes, the guilt and personal reprimands for “failing” our beloveds – that’s understandable, yet you know the angst and deliberation that went into making the decision to let Faith pass in peace was solely for her benefit, and for which I know she was grateful to you. That is truly a selfless, generous, caring and loving decision, and saying goodbye in the comfort of home with her loved ones was all with her best interest in your heart. Please, HOW did you ‘fail’ Faith? It seems you extended the ultimate gift – anything but a ‘fail’. I hope you will allow yourself the same kindness you showed her. We certainly do. We DO have special bonds with the pets, and people, in our lives. In her book, Griffin’s Heart, Reagan talks about her special bond with Griffin even while she had, and continues to have other loving pets she adores. I’ve had special bonds with different pets over my life, too. Bringing a new pet into your home won’t diminish what you had with Faith, nor will it replace your special bond. But, it does give you and the new pet a chance to form your own relationship. You’ll know if and when the time is right for that. It may be just the thing to cheer up your other pup, and can’t help but brighten your days, too. Gerilyn, you are a kind person and I hope you allow yourself to grieve, and enjoy the wonderful memories you and Faith created. We’re here for you and I hope we hear from you again soon. Sending you big HUGS….. -

Beverly, I am very sorry and it’s good you are sharing this because yesterday I thought how my anticipation of my old girl’s passing weighs on me each day. I’m trying not to let it dampen the happy times we are sharing, but she’s 17 1/2 (yesterday in fact) with many health challenges. Knowing Keeshaa is failing hurts you every moment and you should be “down” and sad and hurting. Is she suffering or still feeling sort of okay? How old is she? How long have you been together? Please know we are here for you, understand, and care. Hugs to you and Keeshaa. I’ll be thinking of you both…… -

Oh, what a darling! Look at that smile :-). How lovely for you all to have shared such a long, loving life together. It’s so doggone hard to say goodbye, but what joys you had along the way. Thank you for sharing this. Was Brownie a boy or girl? -

Alice, it hasn’t been very long for you to grieve, and the traumatic little life Chewy had makes it even more heartbreaking. But what a wonderful thing for you all to have had the loving time you did. As a Foster Flunky myself, I know that when we fall, we fall hard. The pain of parting is strong, and so is ‘the force’ of loving memories. I hope you find smiles before tears with her memories soon. Thank you for fostering and caring. Sending you a HUG. - Load More
