Hi Martha, How are you doing now?
    • Toni Noel posted a new activity comment 4 years, 10 months ago

You say it beautifully. What a lucky girl she was, and you are, to have shared such a loving life together. It’s the only downside of falling in love with our pets – they are only “on loan” to us and the hole left when they die is so very deep. BUT – how wonderful were the happy times! Thank you for sharing your story with us, and please stay involved with our caring community. Others would love to hear your support if you like. Toni

Oh what a sweet face. Her eyes speak volumes. I can see why you miss her, and so very sorry for your parting. How did you meet? How long were you together? May I ask what happened? The decision to provide a peaceful passing is such a kind, generous and loving thing to do. It’s devastating for us, but you made it with Ellie’s best interest in mind and heart. Please let us know more about your life with Ellie, and know we understand, care, and are here for you.
          • Toni thank you for your kind words. Ellie came to me from a family that could not keep her because she did not like the cats. I took her and said I would find her a good home well you know how that went she stole my heart and for the next 9 years she was my little girlfriend .
Sadly this past winter she became lethargic one day and could barely walk, when I took her to our vet it was discovered she had a mass on her spleen. Being that Ellie was now 11 years old we decided no surgery but my vet recommended a Chinese supplement and my Ellie had another 4 months of a good life.
On May 12 she was fine eating, barking talking to me like she always did and the next morning she was pretty much unresponsive. She could barely walk so I spoke to my vet and after examining her we made the decision to let her go. I held her and loved her and she kept those sweet eyes on me the whole time. I miss her terribly but I know I was really blessed to have her in my life❤️

Dianne, you are in a very tough, sad spot. We always want to do what’s best for our beloved pets and it’s often hard to know what that is. Fiscal and physical constraints add a lot of challenge to that. Only you and George will decide, but may I again suggest you respond to Crystal at http://www.Waggle.org and see how, and if, they can help you? And Pet Loss at Home can have a vet come to you if it’s time to let George peacefully pass. https://petlossathome.com/
I know I am not alone in being concerned for you both, and wishing you the best in a sad situation. Let us know….
              • @taniaye Tani, how are you, Bobby and your friends?

Well, I’m the wrong person to agree with you, Martha. I know those tears come from deep within and must come out when they do. I don’t think there is a time to healing, it’s a process that varies for each of us, and also depends on the relationship we had, and the state of the pet. I was very saddened and lonesome when Squirt, my best friend for 19 years died, but she was very old and got very ill quickly, and helping ease her way along, while hard for me, was best for her. The tears I cried were heartfelt but not as bad as some of my other losses. So please allow yourself the ability to grieve, and be kind to yourself. We’re here for you, and understand. Hugs……

Dina, Daisy sure was pretty. She and your cat ( what’s the name? Great photos.) look a little alike – black and white. When did you say goodbye to Daisy? We’d love to hear more about your lives together. Let us know how you are doing.
                    • @mfbjroe Martha, how are you coming along? I’m thinking of you and hope you are feeling a bit better.

                      • Some days I think I am doing better. However, I am still dissolving into tears way too often.
