Good, and surprising, news!
First and foremost, I extend my never ending gratitude to this community of kind, caring, understanding people, and the supportive sentiments shared with me today – a grueling, and as it turns out, informative one.
My cat didn’t have to die today :-). Turns out her elevated thyroid caused extremely high blood pressure, which caused her retinas to detach, rendering her suddenly blind. She’s on medicine for the blood pressure and the doctor said her vision will come back in 24 – 48 hours. Who knew? (People can’t do that (to my knowledge). I liken it to how a starfish can regenerate a lost limb, but people can’t. Animals are so cool… Anyway, the doctor thinks my Beauty Girl has several good months ahead of her as we continue to treat her progressive internal disease, and we are home, she’s tucked into her bed, and I am so relieved, (and exhausted from all the crying). I think it’s helpful and important for us all to share our experiences and things we learn, like this has taught us. Perhaps it will help someone else. Again, and always, Thank You All.
