      I have followed this group for some time–probably from back when I lost one of my loved ones. I am finally posting. I lost my girl Kysa (keesa) on Nov. 29th. She was 18 1/2 yrs old. This past Christmas was the first without her beautiful face under my tree. I keep thinking I’m getting “better”–but I miss her so much. I have a 2nd cat, younger- and I love her-but since Kysa is gone- I feel distant with her. I know it’s “normal ” because I’m grieving…. but…I don’t know…And I’m starting to think I want another cat. I’ve always had minimum of two. But an adult– because I am older, so no more kittens. I don’t know why I’m writing this right now-but here it is.. Thank you for listening 💖

        Diane, I’m so sorry for your loss. I had a cat live to be 18. There is nothing more painful than losing a friend that you thought would be with you forever. I had another kitty. She was 16 when she passed. I was lonely. In time I got a little kitty that was thrown from a car. He is almost a year old. It was difficult to go through the baby stage….no became the only word I knew. . Well Frankie is a Siamese and very bullheaded.. he is getting older and learning his manners..I’ve always had girls…but a boy is a new experience…I think I’ve lost some hair. (Pulling it out) I have a cat that has the last word. Don’t feel bad, it takes time. ill always listen to you…take care.

          When I said goodbye to mt Beauty Girl (Deanna was her shelter name). I had a brutal time even though she was 18 and had been unwell. 10 days later Boots needed a temporary home and he snapped me out of the depth of grief. I realized the cycle and circle of life goes on and that BG would be happy for us both. Now that I have Mac and Roni and see how very close they are, I think two (or more) is good for them, and for us. I had no intention of adopting kittens at my age, either, but when Mac’s siblings died, I really became his mother, and bringing Roni into our lives was the best thing for both of us. I usually foster and/or adopt older pets. Diane, look through your shelter websites for a kitty that seems to fit you, then go meet them in person. You’ll probably come home with a different one – one that “speaks” to you🤗And remember, your other kitty is mourning Kysa, too, and together you can heal. Keep us posted. You are always welcome to share.

            Hi Brony, I’m so tickled by what you said about Frankie. Sounds like he is running the show at your house. Lol.
            I’m glad Frankie is settling down a bit now and I hope you had a nice holiday season with your boy.

              Well, it’s been 2 years since my Romeo left this world and my heart broke forever. Life has never been the same and neither have I. I am so lost without him and I would give anything to be able to give him one more cuddle, one more kiss and one more chance to tell him how much I love him. My heart will never be whole again.
              Rest In Peace , my Boobah! I will love you forever 💔

                Good afternoon everyone, happy new year to all. Well, I got snowed in yesterday. Had someone come over and dig me out. Now I’m snowed in again because it snow day last night. I am waiting for my nephew and his son to come and dig me out. Syrus did not like the snow at all, and heck just watched it through the window. He wouldn’t even go near the door when I open the door, so he could look out the screen door. I never expected this to happen in Fenwick Island, Delaware. Have a great day everyone

                                Our Luke crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. He was only 3 years old. We brought him in because he seemed to be struggling breathing and it turned out he had end stage lung cancer. Hardest decision to ever have to make.

                                My precious Einstein had to be put to sleep after falling into bad health. He was 12 and my boy since he was a puppy!

                                  My fur baby Tiny Noel passed away December 11th of this month 2024. She had just turned 13 on the 2nd of December. She was my ESA and my side kick. I miss her so much and the heartache continues

                                    My sweet baby passed away yesterday in my arms. I am so glad I beg my son to go take this picture of all of us with Santa a couple of weeks ago.
