Our hearts are breaking for everyone affected by the California fires💔The Red Cross is allowing pets to shelter with their people, which is magnificent🙌If you can’t take your pets or animals with you to temporary housing, please contact shelters in the area. You can locate shelters in your area by using our “Find Services” tab.
For horses and larger animals, here are some options:
Believe Ranch & Rescue, Rosewood Equestrian, West Coast Equine Emergency and Disaster Response, Carret Rescue Rangers, Rancho Contento, Sandy Valley Ranch (they have the capacity for 100 horses), and Desert Horse Park
Our community is here to assist in any way we can.

Christine, I am so sorry.💔 It sounds as if Tori was unwell and struggling. Knowing how much to do, and when to help her find relief and release is so hard to figure out. It seems you know you gave Tori the final gift of love – a peaceful passing to end her suffering. Now you are suffering the deep pain of parting and it hurts like nothing else does. We want our beloved babies to be with us forever, but they are only on loan to us, never for long enough. I hope you can pull forth some memories of the many fun, funny and loving times you shared, and allow yourself to find some joy in those memories. Please join our kind group meeting this Thursday to share with us. We are here for you. ToniLink to meeting is under the “Events” tab.

I lost my beautiful Tervuren, Tori on 1/3/25. Just a week ago and I still feel so lost without her. I know it will take a lot of time to fully come to grips with her not being her . She was 12 and I had hope to have at least 2-3 years more with her. She is loved and missed by her sister Georgie and out 2 cats as well. I pray she knows how hard we tried to keep her with us but in the end we had to end her pain. I hope she is running fast and catching balls and chasing squirrels again somewhere much beautiful.-

Maria, in our heads we know that Duke is now at peace, and it is good that you find comfort knowing that. Still, our hearts break💔I am sorry fo your loss, and very happy for the fun, funny and loving times you shared with Duke. We can never have them long enough (forever wouldn’t be long enough), but we can give them a wonderful ife and a gracious passing. I hope you find comfort, and joy, in your memories. Toni -

When I said goodbye to mt Beauty Girl (Deanna was her shelter name). I had a brutal time even though she was 18 and had been unwell. 10 days later Boots needed a temporary home and he snapped me out of the depth of grief. I realized the cycle and circle of life goes on and that BG would be happy for us both. Now that I have Mac and Roni and see how very close they are, I think two (or more) is good for them, and for us. I had no intention of adopting kittens at my age, either, but when Mac’s siblings died, I really became his mother, and bringing Roni into our lives was the best thing for both of us. I usually foster and/or adopt older pets. Diane, look through your shelter websites for a kitty that seems to fit you, then go meet them in person. You’ll probably come home with a different one – one that “speaks” to you🤗And remember, your other kitty is mourning Kysa, too, and together you can heal. Keep us posted. You are always welcome to share.

Diane, I’m so sorry for your loss. I had a cat live to be 18. There is nothing more painful than losing a friend that you thought would be with you forever. I had another kitty. She was 16 when she passed. I was lonely. In time I got a little kitty that was thrown from a car. He is almost a year old. It was difficult to go through the baby stage….no became the only word I knew. . Well Frankie is a Siamese and very bullheaded.. he is getting older and learning his manners..I’ve always had girls…but a boy is a new experience…I think I’ve lost some hair. (Pulling it out) I have a cat that has the last word. Don’t feel bad, it takes time. ill always listen to you…take care.

I have followed this group for some time–probably from back when I lost one of my loved ones. I am finally posting. I lost my girl Kysa (keesa) on Nov. 29th. She was 18 1/2 yrs old. This past Christmas was the first without her beautiful face under my tree. I keep thinking I’m getting “better”–but I miss her so much. I have a 2nd cat, younger- and I love her-but since Kysa is gone- I feel distant with her. I know it’s “normal ” because I’m grieving…. but…I don’t know…And I’m starting to think I want another cat. I’ve always had minimum of two. But an adult– because I am older, so no more kittens. I don’t know why I’m writing this right now-but here it is.. Thank you for listening 💖 -

Well, it’s been 2 years since my Romeo left this world and my heart broke forever. Life has never been the same and neither have I. I am so lost without him and I would give anything to be able to give him one more cuddle, one more kiss and one more chance to tell him how much I love him. My heart will never be whole again.
Rest In Peace , my Boobah! I will love you forever 💔
Mommy. 💔 ❤️ 💔 -

Good afternoon everyone, happy new year to all. Well, I got snowed in yesterday. Had someone come over and dig me out. Now I’m snowed in again because it snow day last night. I am waiting for my nephew and his son to come and dig me out. Syrus did not like the snow at all, and heck just watched it through the window. He wouldn’t even go near the door when I open the door, so he could look out the screen door. I never expected this to happen in Fenwick Island, Delaware. Have a great day everyone

Welcome to 2025🎉
I hope everyone enjoys a year filled with making good moments with our faithful friends 🤗
Here is one of mine: Roni and an orchid!
Orchids are not poisonous to animals, but many plants are, so please be familiar with pets and plants. We have an informational article in our Library. -
