Linda, our golden retriever died of a stroke as well. The suddenness made her passing even worse, but I believe our girl knew how much harder it would be for us if we had to make the decision for her so she sparred us that pain. Even after several years have gone by I still miss her everyday.

💔Ouch. It hurts like nothing else can, losing a beloved friend like Darla💔I am so very sorry for your pain, Janet. I am also happy for the years of love and fun you and Darla shared, and hope that you can bring forth some of those good memories, and find some comfort knowing Darla had her best life with you. It is a tough reality that our pets are only “on loan” to us, never for long enough (forever wouldn’t be long enough). My 17 year-old tuxedo girl, Darla, passed away 17 days ago from chronic kidney disease. I’ve been beyond devastated. She was my delight for 17 years.
