@motherofbulldogs Hello Stephanie, and welcome to our caring community. Clearly you are an animal lover, having said goodbye to Cliff, Leo and Douggie. I am so sorry for your losses, and happy for the loving, fun times you got to share. Were they all Bull Dogs? May we see photos and hear about each of them? How are you holding up, Stephanie? We’re here for you with sympathy and undertanding. Please join our monthly group meeting Sep. 21st at 7PM EST. The links and schedule are under “Events” on the right side of this page. We look forward to hearing more from you. 💔Toni

@kitters87 Hi Carol. Welcome to our caring community. Kitters – what a great name! I am so sorry for your loss and hope you will tell us about your life with Kitters: How did you meet? Karon, Thank you for sharing your touching and inspirational story. You have touched a lot of hearts and I appreciate the time you gave to tell us about Serenity and Einstein. Yes, our animals grieve alongside us and we support each other through those terribly painful times. This is why we are here – to listen to stories about life with our beloved pets, and to support one another as we mourn, and recover. Please continue to share with us, and give Einstein some good lovin’ from me 😻🤗💕. We’ll be waiting to hear from you. {{HUGS}} Toni -

I forgot to say in my previous post that, my baby girl kitty Serenity was my spunky feisty girl. Her twin brother Einstein (even though, they were the same age) was always looking after his sister. When two years ago (12/28/2021) when Serenity passed away, Einstein became very sad (as myself) and he became very depressed and distant. And I felt the same. But we managed to pull through. In my previous post I mentioned how happy and excited that Einstein is now my certified ESA, it means a lot to me because years ago when Serenity was still alive I wanted Serenity to be my ESA because I suffer from a mental illness and would have wanted Both Serenity & Einstein to be my ESAs but the ad said I could only pick one pet. Anyways, at the time when I realized how much the certification was, I was heartbroken because I could not afford it (I’m just on disability income) so I could not get the ESA and Serenity passed away… then I kept seeing the ad for the ESA. Well, actually sacrificing most of my monthly income I decided to apply for the ESA for my boy Einstein. So a few days ago I received my email that Einstein was approved! It was late in game (Einstein is a Senior Cat of 17yrs young) but I sacrificed money I really don’t have for my Einstein (and really for his twin sister Serenity too!) but although I’m overjoyed about Einstein’s ESA Certificate, I don’t forgive myself about not getting my baby girl Serenity’s ESA in time before she passed away. I have always loved them both equally but my baby girl Reeny (nic) was my precious! I feel Einstein is happy for both himself and his twin sister Serenity. I was so excited to tell him of the news and show him his certificate (which is in a beautiful frame on my altar in my bedroom near a picture of Serenity and her beautiful urn) I had a small celebration for him (Einstein) and my family! It was such a happy celebration with cake (humans), cat toys, presents, Temptation Treats for Cats, balloons 🎈 and some of his l…[Read more]

Oh Julie, Max is still within your heart and it hasn’t been very long for you to live without his presence in your home. It’s undertandable, and truly okay for you to feel the pains you do, and to cry. In fact, crying is good for you, to get rid of the sad toxins created by grief. So Julie, may I offer a way to navigate through this terribly hurtful time? Can you think of the times you shared with Max that were good, fun and loving, and see how many of those you shared and enjoyed? Perhaps that will help give a perspective. Our pets are only “on loan” to us, never for long enough, and we can honor our time together by recalling and celebrating all of the fabulous time we were allowed to share. I hope that helps you a bit, and I invite you to join our group meeting Sep. 21st to share more about Max with us. We’re here for you. {HUGS} Toni -

I miss this baby so much, I still cry everyday. I have his forever box on the living room window sill where he always went to see outside. Everyday when I open/close the blinds I have to touch his box and tell him how much I miss him. Max crossed the rainbow bridge June 18, 2023. He took my heart with him 😢-

As I\’ve settled into my new house I\’ve been having this recurring feeling of missing my pet Ziggy who passed October 2021. I always saw us getting the house and her being able to run around in our fenced-in yard. I miss her howls when she wanted to just talk. I want to create a little memorial I can visit in our backyard as we prepare for the cold months. My pup Xena played with her when she was younger and I see so much of Ziggy in her and it helps bring me peace. Whenever I hear this song, it reminds me of her. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrscdXiKnWc -

Sally, I still choke up when I see pictures of my dear old Squirt, and she’s been gone decades. The love doesn’t go away, and while the acute pain fades, a little pain and melancholy accompanies the memories of all the wonderful times we shared. You have lost so many loves in such a short period, it’s undertsandable that you are moved to tears. It’s okay to cry – in fact, it helps clear toxins from our bodies. Anniversaries stir up strong emotions, too and I encourage you to join our group meeting Sep. 24th in anticipation of Ooky’s. A nice suggestion from one of our members: in addition to marking the anniversary of the date of parting, celebrate the date of birth or adoption! I think that’s lovely and hope that brings you a bit of comfort. We’ll be here for you. {{HUGS}} Toni

October 1st is the 3 year anniversary of Ooky\’s death. 3 years and I still cry when I look at her pictures or watch video of her. The pain of loss never seems to go away. I lost her sister Doodlebug last May and her Aunt, Missy last June they were all blood related and all died from untreatable cancer.
I miss them so very much.-
