I’m so sorry you’re going through this! After losing four beloved babies in such a short period of time, it can understand that this would trigger a lot of fear and bring back those painful memories. You’ve already done exactly the right thing by calling the vet and scheduling an appointment. Cats can sometimes start peeing outside the box for reasons that are treatable (urinary issue, stress, changes in routine, or even something as simple as litter box preference, they are picky sometimes). I know our tendency is to expect the worst as pet parents. Right now, try to take things one day at a time and remember to be gentle with yourself, too. Kaylanee is lucky to have someone who notices changes quickly and is paying such close attention to her.

I’ll be keeping both you and Kaylanee in my thoughts and prayers. I hope the appointment brings reassuring answers and that this turns out to be something manageable. Sending you a big hug so you don’t have to carry all of this fear alone. ❤️
Suzanne posted an update Please pray for Kaylanee, she’s just recently started peeing outside the litter box litter box at least 2x that I found yesterday and once that I’m aware of this morning. She’s pooping in the litter box. I called vet and tech said to monitor her for any other behavioral changes, eating, lethargy, drinking, etc., I do have appointment for Thursday June 18 and will call before that if needed. My PTSD , from loosing all my 4 babies between March 28-January 26, is starting to kick in and my emotions are all over the place right now. It feels like a repeat of last December, the week before I was leaving for vacation, my 92 year old mother fell, my friend’s husband died the same day, suddenly and I lost my Freyja, unexpectedly on December 17. At least this time it’s only animal -and car issues but I’m
Not sure how much more I’m able to handle.

Suzanne, I am so sorry to hear this news about Sebastian and his sudden and unexpected passing. I know it hurts so much to let them go, but you did the right thing by him. All we can do is give them a better life and in turn, they give us joy with all their antics. You will see him again one day. You will see all your babies again one day. Sending you a great big hug during this difficult time. -Diane

My heart is shattered into a million pieces. I unexpectedly had to say good bye to my Sebastian today. . This is the 4th cat I’ve lost in less than a year, all of them sudden and 3 unexpected. Sebastian appeared “normal” at his semi annual wellness exam, on Thursday, then Thursday night Friday, he just stopped eating and drinking and by Sunday was vomiting white foamy liquid to often to count. Got an emergency appointment with my vet at 9:00 this morning and blood work showed Kidney failure, suspected pancreatic cancer and urinalysis showed UTI, very unusual in male cats , among other issues. Doing further tests I was told really wasn’t t going to improve his chances, so I made the heart wrenching but compassionate and right choice to let him go, so he wouldn’t suffer anymore. I’m very thankful, that I had all day Saturday with him, I usually have to dog sit, as we were able to have lots of lap time and cuddle time together. By Sunday he wasn’t interested in being with me very much. Since Sebastian had lost his bonded brother Oliver, last March, he started to become a less timid more self confident cat, who when his younger fur siblings were not around, loved to sit in my lap. I will miss him coming to look for me when I was home when I was home. It was his way of saying why aren’t you sitting? I want to sit on your lap. The photos of Sebastian were taken by me before I let him go. Sebastian, my little lap buddy, the house will be so quiet with out you. You will be dearly missed but now you are reunited with your bonded brother, Oliver, your sweet toothless, gentle, Kalina, who, while she was only with us a short time, I know the two of you developed a special bound. While you and Freyja, much to my chagrin, never really got along, she’ll be there to welcome you too, to Rainbow Bridge! Run free my sweet little Sebastian. Sebastian is the orange/ginger kitty , Kalina is the tiger cat and Freyja, “queen” of the castle is the tuxedo cat.

Hi Suzanne, I am heartbroken to hear about Oliver. Losing a pet is never easy, especially when it happens so suddenly. Even though he was with you for only 2 1/2 years, I know he felt loved and safe in your care. The bond you shared with him was something truly special, and I’m sure he appreciated every moment of it. It’s clear how much joy he brought to your life, and I hope you can find comfort in knowing that you gave him a home full of love, warmth, and kindness. Please remember to be gentle with yourself during this difficult time. It’s okay to grieve, and it’s okay to miss him. We will be together again with our beloved pets one day. Until then, we will take on the responsibility of caring for new furry souls in need of love and ca home. Thinking of you. -Diane

Hi everyone, it’s been a long time since I’ve visited this site, but please know that I pray daily for all who are mourning the passing of a beloved Pet ,that they may feel God‘s loving healing, embrace. I also pray that anyone both human and animal who is dying will be surrounded by family , friends and those most significant and important to them. That said I’d like to share a memorial in loving memory of my sweet, lovable Oliver.
On Saturday morning, March 29 you shattered my heart into a million pieces when I had to say goodbye to you Oliver. your passing was so sudden and unexpected , that I had no time to really prepare myself. Yes you had health issues which you were being treated for but we were just at the vet Friday morning for a quality of life check and the vet said you were holding your own. Then three hours later, you started yowling like a screaming child and acting strangely. I picked you up to comfort you, and after calming down some, you jumped down from my lap and lost total control of your back legs. Both the emergency vet I took you to Friday evening and your own Vet believe it was probably a thrown blood clot that prematurely took your life. I took you to urgent care and the Vet and I talked about what was best for you. She gave you some pain medication as I chose to take you home so Sebastian your bonded brother could be with you as you crossed the rainbow bridge because I didn’t want him dying of a broken heart like my Saraya did after she lost her two bonded sisters, within two months of each other. Big mistake on my part because despite the pain medicine given to you, your fear and anxiety were off the charts and it was a long night for both of us. Thankfully, Your vet Stack veterinary Hospital was able to get us in shortly after they opened Saturday morning and Sebastian and I surrounded you with our love and sadness as we said goodbye and you crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The greatest gift I was able to give you in the 2 1/2 years we shared together was letting you go rather than prolonging your suffering, even if it did shatter my heart into a million pieces. To say Sebastian and I will miss you is an understatement. The hole that you have left in my heart may never totally heal, but knowing that you are free of all pain, fear and anxiety will help me to heal, Oliver. You were that one cat in a lifetime that touches ones soul. You adopted me versus me adopting you. when I did my pre-adoption visit with you and Sebastian. I did a crate visit as the SPCA did not want to force Sebastian, your shy, timid, brother who deeply misses you to have to come out of the crate. When I reached my hand into your crate to Pet, you both, you put your paw over my hand and started licking my hand, letting me know I was yours. It was love at first sight and I knew you and Sebastian were meant to come home with me. I only wish your time with me and your brother had been longer than 2 1/2 years but now you are free of your cancer, heart disease and any other health issues we weren’t aware of. until we meet again when it’s my turn to cross the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge. please guide me in my search for a new fur baby to welcome into the family in your memory that needs a loving forever home like you and your brother once did. gone from my sight but not from my heart. 💔🐾🌈😿❤️ love you forever Oliver, your human mom, your bonded, brother, Sebastian, and your brothers, Takoda and Oreo
