I’ll never forget as a little girl the night Dad brought Maddie home. My brother and I were thrilled, we finally got a dog! A beautiful liver color Dalmation, meaning white with brown spots instead of black. Maddie was about 1yrs old when we got her. I have plenty of memories I can add but two of my favorites are when we got down on the floor at her level and kind of tapped the floor with both hands. This must of meant ready, set, go to her cause she would get so excited and just tear around the house through the kitchen into the dining room into living room and on to lap 2 and 3 and so on. It might have been the only time she was allowed to get onto the couch and I only think because there was no stopping her at that point. The other was a road trip to San Francisco and we were walking through a tunnel. When we talked it echoed and she took off and was out of that tunnel in no time. Again, we all cracked up. Maddie was a part of our family for 14 years until old age got the best of her. We knew her quality of life was coming to an end and we were there every step of the way to make it as peaceful for her as possible. I hope in Doggie Heaven she has a huge house to tear around and friends to play with. She will forever be in our hearts and part of our childhood memories.
